What happened at the 2nd Annual National SummitSustainable Water & Sanitation 2016?Nispana’s 2nd Annual NSWSS 2016 took place at the Eros Hotel New Delhi, India from1 – 2 December 2016. The premier event was supported by the Swacchh BharathMission, National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) and the summit partners wereNFSSM. With the aim to create a platform to bring together the key stake holdersinvolved in the water & sanitation sector in India, the summit brought togetherover 150 decision makers from across the country in addition to International stakeholders and educated them on various elements which would play a significant rolein streamlining the activities in this sector. The message that the summit conveyedwas that this sector definitely needs a collaborative framework to minimize waterscarcity and achieve the true ODF free status.The two day event had representatives from private and government sectors.The event featured a range of international and regional case studies detailingthe technicalities involved. Apart from the case studies, there were presentationson new technologies and product advancements by companies such as VAG whopresented their expertise to the audience followed by a technology showcase fromNorway featuring Salsnes, Cambi, GEA & HOST. Indian organizations like Prince Pipes& Fittings, Kamstrup, Organica Biotech presented their expertise which receivedan overwhelming response from the attending delegates. The format of the eventensured there were opportunities for the attendees to raise their concerns and getthe much needed response during the interactive dialogues. Knowing the who’swho will be attending one week before the event, organizations were well preparedwhich further helped them to have an interactive and focused discussions duringthe networking breaks.
