A. The Chamber Hellenic Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HACCI) was founded in 1992 immediately upon the regaining of independence of the RA, by a group of local businessmen that shared the vision of enhancing the bilateral commercial and economic relations. The man behind this endeavor was Christos Dalelian a well known jeweler and businessman from Greece that supported by his own financial means the operation of the chamber from 1992 up to 2010 and is still serving HACCI as a Honorary President. The current Board of Directors is consisted of Mr. Akis Dagazian (President), Mr. Dimitrios Karaiskos (Vice President), Mr. Hagop Knouni (Secretary General), Mr. Daniel Apikian (Cashier), Mr. Harout Boynikian, Mr. Kevork Kolanian and Mr. Zakeos Damatian (Members). B. Our Services HACCI is providing a wide range of services exclusively to its members which are summarized as follows: i. Consulting services for the promotion of bilateral trade relations ii. Close cooperation with the Embassy of Armenia iii. Networking- Credit information iv. Lobbying – Public relations v. Participation in trade delegations/exhibitions, in events & seminars on subjects related to national and international financial, economic, legal & political developments and access to professional catalogues/ surveys/ statistics vi. Cooperation with Universities vii. Cooperation with other Chambers viii. B. Activities In its short period if its existence, HACCI has organized and got involved in a lot of successful projects for the support of the Greek – Armenian economic cooperation. C. Financial Means The Chamber is a wholly autonomous, nonprofit organization and receives no subsidy from any government body. Its resources are consisted mainly from the members' annual fees. D. 2020 Detailed Plan Chamber's projected activities for the financial year 2020 can be summarized in the following fields: i. Participation in Trade Fairs ii. Participation in Fora iii. Articles in Newspapers and Magazines iv. Targeted Social Media v. Education vi. Networking with other institutional bodies In more details Chamber's plan will be the following: i. Participation in Trade Fairs a. Detrop / Oenos Detrop is the first exhibition in Greece for the food & beverage sector. It is the only exhibition that has persisted and remained present in the Greek market since 1976. In 2019, there were over 300 hosted buyers, coming from Belgium, Canada, Dubai, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the USA and, of course, all the Balkan countries, with over 5,500 pre-arranged meetings. Participation in this show is of high importance for Armenian companies as food, beverage and especially wine sector are among the most developing in Armenia. b. Thessaloniki International Fair With over 84 years of history, TIF has been one of the most important Fairs in Greece throughout history, with international appeal. TIF has always been the \"testing ground\" where new products were presented, tested and became known. It is considered the most recognizable exhibition in Greece and it is the only Fair with a guaranteed high number of visitors (264,000 in 2019!!!). The parallel recreational events cover a rich variety of themes. c. Philoxenia / Hotelia For 2019, the most significant, the longest running and the largest tourism fair in Greece! Hotelia, a strictly business-orientated exhibition, gathers all novelties from the hotel, food and coffee making sectors. HOTELIA is addressed to hoteliers, architects, decorators, construction companies, as well as professionals from the tourism, coffee, food and beverages sectors. ii. Events, Conferences, Fora a. Money Show Athens / Thessaloniki The Money Show is a multi-conference with specific audiences in all parallel events, fully controllable from the viewpoints of organization, quality and size. The conferences operate as catalysts for the discussion of collaboration agreements and, secondarily, as information disseminators for preselected audiences. At the same time with the conferences there is a parallel exhibition of products and services that the conferences' participants are offering. The organization of the Exhibition is really exceptional in an environment matching the expected level of contacts, specifically in Conference rooms and Ballrooms of the Athens Ηilton & Hyatt Regency Hotel Thessaloniki, securing all measures necessary for uninhibited discussions between exhibitors and visitors and for the circulation of visitors in all Exhibition facilities. iii. Articles in Newspapers and Magazines Presentation of investment opportunities in Armenia in newspapers or magazines in Greece. They will have the form of an article signed by journalists, H.E. the ambassador of the RA in Greece or a member of the Chamber. Targeted Social Media • At least one post per week at the Chamber's Facebook page. • Creating of Tweeter account. At least one tweet per week. • Creating of webpage v. Education For the year 2020 Chamber is planning to implement the discussions with the University of Piraeus to include a course of the Armenian language in the studies program of the University. Additionally, following an invitation from the Armenian Youth of Thessaloniki, the Chamber is planning a 2 hours open event for the presentation of the Chamber's activities at the Der Zakarian Hall in Thessaloniki. vi. Business Missions In cooperation with the Embassy of the RA in Greece and the relative Greek authorities and institutional bodies, Chamber is ready to assist in the preparing of the business delegation to Armenia vii. Networking with other institutional bodies Hellenic - Armenian Chamber is ready to interact, cooperate and network with other bodies.
