DUSTED BOOTS HOMME.

A Message From Me To You As I sit here in my living room, wrapped up in a blanket with the quiet sounds of rain hitting the windows, I thought this would be the perfect time to talk to you about Dusted Boots. This is the first issue of the magazine, and it is represnative of the different styles I like in fashion. This issue I decided to go with avante garde as the main theme, as its true to me and what I like. Brands like Alexander Mcqueen, Raf Simmons and Rick Owens helped me to dive deeper into the fashion scene and made me want to persue it as a career. But enough about me, in this magazine, there is an excellent feature on shepards bush market, an in-depth article on Carnaby street and much, much more. Hope you enjoy!

Shepherds Bush Market Stepping into shepherd's bush market, a waft of smells hit you. From the west Indian restaurant, to the various spices different stalls are selling. Its narrow pathways, and cultural diversity, make you feel like you're in a foreign country. The market has been here for over a hundred years, selling a variety of goods, such as head scarfs, fabrics, women's dresses, men's clothing and accessories. They also have food produce such as fish, meat, fruit and vegetables. In the surrounding area of the market there a lot of fabric shops and various food places, which mostly cater to the Muslim community, who are a vital part of the areas culture. Within the market, there are two main retail store types. Independent stores, which do not rely on larger brand names to build their reputation. These are usually smaller in size and offer a smaller selection of items. The other type of retailer is a concession/ market stall. This is a more personal type of retailer, and relies heavily on face to face interactions, and involves a lot more conversation then most other types of retail. As you can imagine, concession business has decreased significantly due to Covid 19, causing some of these small stalls to close. During my visit to the market, I bought some fabric for my neighbor from one of the market stalls. The woman was very helpful in finding the rwigahs twoilnliengantdo cguottdinogwint daofewwn ptoousinzdesfborecmaeu.sSehitewtoalsdomnee hoef rheprrifciersbt ut sales of the day. We had an interesting conversation about how the pandemic has affected business, and what it's like owning a market stall, during current times. This is why some prefer to go to a market swthailcl, hasseiet mis taomsloorwelpy ebresoantahlienxgpoefritehnecep, aasnt.d supports local businesses, This was one of my first times visiting the market, and I really enjoyed the experience. I loved how narrow the pathways are, and how it felt like I was in a different country, even though it was 5 minutes from where I lived. I definitely want to visit again and explore further into the market.

Drab Is The New Dapper? With the rise of environmental awareness in the modern world, inspiration for garments are all around us. This season we will see an increase in the use of earth tones, and a focus on \"earthy camouflage\". This is a new take on typical camo, that draws inspiration from natural environments such as rock formations, water and oil patterns. This has trickled down from the runway with the likes of Dries Van Noten leading the way, and high street brands like Zara taking inspiration by using earth tones more in their garments.

Carnaby Street And Its Impact On Fashion Carnaby street has deep history. Originally made to be residential, it was created by a man called Richard Tyler in 1662. This changed over time with major events like the plague and cholera outbreaks possibly influencing how the street was redeveloped. The street first started to gain notoriety in the 60s, when the first menswear boutique was built, attracting many famous names like Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and many more. The fashion at the time was extremely diverse. From the vibrant and phycedelic patterns worn by fans of rock, to the extremely british, classier loooks worn by fans of the beatles and similar bands. As you could imagaine, Carnaby Street was rich in culture and the \"it\" place to be for young people. The 1980s saw the emergence of punk. New designers like vivienne westwood and john richmond moved into the area, with a fresh take on fashion. They took inspiriation from american trends of the 60s like leather jackets , and twisted them by ripping the sleeves, adding spikes or painting offensive phrases on t-shirts. This was made popular by bands like the Sex Pistols, who were notoriously rude and offensive in their music and in interviews
