Wedding NATALIE & CRAIG Natalie & Craig Smith, both 31, married at Louis Phaethon Beach Hotel, Paphos in Cyprus on 27�� May 2013. “We had been together 12 and a half years, when we got married. We met when I was 19 and Craig was six months younger being 18 and a half, at a nightclub in Uxbridge in November 2000. My friends knew Craig from our secondary school days but I never met him. Craig proposed on my 30th Birthday in November 2001. It was a complete surprise as I thought he was buying me a watch for my birthday. He disguised the ring as my present in a massive gift box. The ring box was huge too, me still not having a clue believing there was a watch inside. When I opened it, there he was in the Middle of the lounge down on one knee. When I asked him what he was doing, he popped the question and my initial reaction was to say ‘no’ as I thought it was a Joke! Soon realising it was no joke, I obviously couldn't Stop saying YES! My engagement ring is 18-carat white Gold with a single Canadian ice cut diamond.” Where did you go for your hen party? “We went to Reading for my hen weekend, there was 18 of us” CWM 57

Wedding Where did the groom go for the stag do? “Craig went to Newcastle with 11 of his friends. He then had another stag do before the wedding when we were in Cyprus. He decided it would be fun for the men to go Deep sea fishing. However, they were all extremely ill, no fishing took place and they all came back looking Green!” Your Dress: “My dress was a Maggie Sottero style Maude. It was Absolutely gorgeous A-line, soft shimmer satin sleeveless Gown with deep V-neck featuring a rich Swarvoski crystal Brooch adorning the design with glamour and elegance. Finished with a corset back closure.” Accessories: “I wore a tiara and a diamanté bracelet.” Something Old, New, Borrowed & Blue?: “Something new was my dress, something borrowed was my bracelet from my mother-in-law and something Blue was on my garter.! We chose this hotel to stay at as it was very family Orientated and had good reviews on Trip Advisor. How far in advance did you book it? We booked the hotel in June 2012 The Reception Venue: For the Reception we walked there as it was a restaurant next to the hotel How & Why did you choose it? We chose the restaurant as it had a peaceful setting on the beach with its own beach bar and a great grass area for the children to play. CWM 59

Wedding How far in advance did you book it? We booked the restaurant in November 2012 The Food: As we were in Cyprus we opted for the Meze Menu The Music: For the reception we used our iPod, which we had a play list of favourite songs saved to. What was your first dance? ‘I just can’t stop loving you’ by Michael Jackson Flowers & Décor I had white/ cream, gerberas in the round bouquet bound with navy blue ribbon and some diamanté’s scattered Throughout. We had navy blue chair covers for the chairs at the civil ceremony which was then taken and put on the chairs at the restaurant. I’m not a very flowery person - Craig chose my bouquet for me. Describe your table centrepieces: We had 3 extra-large looking wine glasses that were filled with clear crystals, along with a few scattered blue crystals and a gerbera flower. On the table we also had scattered clear and blue crystals. Did you offer favours, if so what were they? No, we didn’t have favours, instead we made it a free bar. The Cake: In Cyprus this was a very basic round sponge cake that had a blue and gold ribbon around the outside and a cream gerbera on the top. Our main Wedding Cake was at the UK Reception 60 CWM

What was the best part of the day and why? I have so many heart-warming memories when I think back to one of the best days of my life. Walking back down the aisle once it was announced we were husband and wife. I couldn’t have been happier. Seeing our guests’ faces when our surprise wedding Double Decker bus arrived was magic. The whole day was perfect. We had a slight hitch with my dress that you could see one of the lace layers at the bottom and that my hoop would not stay pinned together, but nothing that safety pin and a bit of Sellotape couldn’t fix! Did you encounter any problems during the planning stages? At the beginning of January within 24 hours of each other 3 things happened: the shop where I ordered my dress went into liquidation and I didn’t know if they would fulfil my Order, I had to find a new cake maker for our UK Reception and my engagement ring Broke. Luckily within the week everything was sorted. Is there anything you learned that you think is an important tip for future Wedding Couples? Definitely - arrange the day how you want it, it is after all your Wedding Day!
