WHAT IS FLASH FILL ? FLASH FILL AUTOMATICALLY FILLS YOUR DATA WHEN IT SENSES A PATTERN

EXAMPLES OF WHEN TO USE THE FEATURE: It's easy to use Flash Fill, but you'll need to tell Excel what you want. There are three steps to this process: 1. Enter the data from the source. 2. Fill up the first cell to the right of the source data with whatever you like. 3. Ctrl+E will activate Flash Fill, which will finish the list. Example '1' We can use flash fill in Excel to join the last names in column A and the first names in column B to create email addresses. Example '2' We can use flash fill to extract numbers from column A to column B. Example '3' We can use flash fill to rearrange numbers.

How the feature may support the decision making in an organization Flash Fill helps the admissions and registration department of any university to decide and write an email or ID for each new student at the beginning of the year. This is done in an easy and fast way through Excel and select any of the previously mentioned ways to do it.

Limitation of using Flash Fill: While Flash Fill is an extremely powerful tool, every feature has a disadvantage. As a result, it has a number of limitations. Here are several examples: 1 The consequences aren't ever-changing. They will not be updated automatically. 2 Flash Fill may choose an erroneous pattern, resulting in negative outcomes. It can be difficult to spot incorrect results. It's always a good idea to double-check the results. 3 The results are not filled horizontally while using Flash Fill. 4 Flash Fill can convert your numbers to string format. 5 If the auto-filled cells contain tabs or other non- printable characters, Flash Fill will leave portion of them blank. 6 If the auto-filled cells contain tabs or other non-printable characters, Flash Fill will leave portion of them blank. pn
