Language in Use ‘So’ vs. ‘because’ The winter vacations have begun, so Sara is going to her grandparents’ house in Coorg. She is carrying her colours because she loves to paint. She has also packed a few home-made sweets because her grandparents love sweets. It will be very cold in Coorg, so Sara has kept her woollen clothes in the suitcase. Sara has to catch a morning train, so she must sleep. Observe the use of ‘so’ and ‘because’ in the passage. Can you think about what the difference in their usage is?
