Teacher demonstrates how the activity is carried out and practise in class if necessary. Step 1: Teacher calls out students according to their roll numbers/ name chits. Step 2: Teacher hands the student a WH question card, gives them 2 minutes on the timer. After 2 minutes, the students have to speak for 45 seconds to 1 minute. Teacher must inform the students at least two days prior the competition to bring along their pocket dictionaries. 2. New word list for the teacher to read out. (15 Words) 3. An additional list of 5 words in case there is a tie. 4. Clear instructions to be given of the day of the competition. (No peeking into others books/asking for help, etc) Step 1: Teacher asks the students to be ready with their dictionaries. Step 2: Teacher reads out one word from the list and sets the timer for 30 seconds. Step 3: Students go through the dictionary and bookmark the words read out by the teacher. Step 4: Teacher verifies the words and finalises the winner. Step 5: In case of a tie, teacher to read out from the backup list - this time the timer to be set for 15 seconds. Teacher announces the competition and asks the students to select and bring their own newspaper (only English) article to be read in front of the class for 1 minute. It raises many questions about laws, morals, friendships, and connections between the species. Where’s the man in all that? Why does fire make man so powerful? 2 Periods 1. Teacher sets the context by telling about their favorite movie. 2. Gives an understanding of what the movie is about (plot, characters, language, theme, etc.) 3. Teacher shows the movie or asks the students to watch the movie at least a week in advance Step 1: Teacher divides the class into groups.
