Use the hints given below: - Hints : Definition of education How schools teach? Advantages of the system Disadvantages of the system Its effect on children How it could be changed Speech : Good morning to one and all. I am here today to share my views on the topic 'The Present Education System`. Education means to learn, to question, to understand and to apply. It means to gain knowledge. This definition is being interpreted differently by different schools. Along with academics, the students are also taught other activities like drawing, music, abacus, skating, yoga, etc. It’s good that children are being exposed to different activities. But we must realise that children cannot learn everything perfectly. Over ambitious parents and schools are causing undue pressure on children. The mad craze for marks and ranks is also going overboard. Students are being kept in school for 10 - 12 hours a day. They are being made to learn by rote. Teaching is totally exam oriented. True learning is not happening. Students are studying only to get marks. Therefore, it is high time we think about the way we teach, the way children learn and the way our exams are conducted Thank you 110
