TWO VIOLENT JOGGING TO THE BEAT A Short Story By Dubay Pardo

Chris Sparrow looked at the magic book in his hands and felt surprised.

He walked over to the window and reflected on his cosy surroundings. He had always loved quiet Plymouth with its gigantic, grieving gates. It was a place that encouraged his tendency to feel surprised.

Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Alison Russell. Alison was a vile monster with skinny fingernails and wobbly arms.

Chris gulped. He glanced at his own reflection. He was a sympathetic, brave, whiskey drinker with ruddy fingernails and wide arms. His friends saw him as a queenlike, quaint king. Once, he had even made a cup of tea for a wonderful disabled person.

The clouds danced like partying foxes, making Chris anxious. As Chris stepped outside and Alison came closer, he could see the dry glint in her eye.

Chris looked back, even more anxious, and still fingering the magic book. \"Alison, I admire your eyebrows,\" he replied. They looked at each other with stressed feelings, like two round, rough rats smiling at a very malicious wake, which had indie music playing in the background and two violent uncles jogging to the beat.

Suddenly, Alison lunged forward and tried to punch Chris in the face. Quickly, Chris grabbed the magic book and brought it down on Alison's skull. Alison's skinny fingernails trembled, and her wobbly arms wobbled. She looked afraid, her body raw like a shallow, scrawny sausage.

Then she let out an agonizing groan and collapsed onto the ground. Moments later Alison Russell was dead. Chris Sparrow went back inside and made himself a nice glass of whiskey.
