PAGE 4 2020 FUN FAIR & MUSIC CONCERT This was my first Funfair experience and I really enjoyed it. There were a variety of fun activities to partake in and a lot of delicious food from different countries that gripped my attention. The day was hot but enjoyable and as it progressed, more people came in to enjoy the music and outstanding meals. What about the beautiful prizes won in the Raffle draws? Though I did not win any, I was happy for those that their luck shown like a thousand stars. Better luck for more next year. The fashion show was a great success once again and attracted many parents and students within and outside the school. The students really seemed to enjoy the fashion show as they applauded and cheered, while the models made their way down the runway. Finally, there was a magnificent addition to the night as some beloved Artistes came to perform and thrill the crowd, REMA and TENI. The crowd was filled with excitement as they performed and there were also instances when students had the opportunity to go on stage and dance alongside the artistes. Overall, the day was amazing as several dishes from different cultures were outstanding and everyone enjoyed the day both young and old. The highlight was definitely the concert as both students, teachers and parents sang along to the beautiful melodies and danced the night away. Looking forward to the next REGENT FUNFAIR!!!!!!! -Karani Natalie (Year 10 Congo) Respect Responsibility Resourcefulness THE REGENT DIGEST VOLUME 8 ISSUE 24

PAGE 25 MEDICAL CORNER MAKE THESE HEALTH GOALS INTO DAILY HABITS Every day, we should be striving to improve our health outcomes. One way to do that is to set health goals. Health goals include living a long, healthy life and combatting diseases. However, we can have smaller goals that can help us achieve our much larger goals. Achieving these small goals will be exactly what you need to get and keep your health on the right track. 1. Develop A Morning Routine The morning is the most important part of the day. How you start your morning sets the tone for the entire day. If you start your mornings rushed (jumping out of bed to get dressed, skipping breakfast, and heading out to class), then your day will be thrown off. Take time to get up in the morning, have a cup of tea and consider how you want your day to flow. More time in the morning, gives time to focus on your tasks for the day and the people you love. 2. Add More Greens To Your Plate Green, leafy vegetables have many benefits including providing the iron and vitamins you need throughout the day. Greens always do a body good. 3. Take Time To Breathe Deep breathing is one of the best ways to alleviate stress and to help you gain mental clarity. 4. Drink Lots Of Water Water is essential for healing and maintaining good health. The more water you drink the better you will feel. Most people don’t drink enough water even though there are so many benefits. Health authorities commonly rec- ommend eight 8-ounce glasses, which equals about two litres, or half a gallon daily. It will help give you glowing skin, regulate your digestive track, filter your kidneys, and help you get rid of the toxins in your body. 5. Get Enough Sleep Good sleep is an important part of having a healthy life. The goal is to get at least 7 hours of sleep each night. To function at your absolute best, a full night of sleep is necessary. It is recommended that adults get at least 7-9 hours of sleep a day. 6. Laughter Is The Best Medicine Why so serious? While it may be hard to laugh with all that is going on around us, we must make this a part of our daily routine. Laughter strengthens the immune system, boosts mood, diminishes pain, and protects against the damaging effects of stress. Nothing works faster or more dependably than a good laugh when it comes to bringing your mind and body back into balance. Make it a habit to watch or read something funny. It can help take your mind away from the seriousness of life. Laughter is truly one of the best things you can add to your daily routine.
