It is governed by a five member Board of Commissioners elected to six year terms in biennial public elections. They receive nocompensation for attending meetings. The terms of office are staggered so that no more than two Commissioners are electedat one time. The board establishes general policies, adopts the budget and appropriation ordinance, and appoints the District Attorney and Director. Park Board meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Park DistrictAdministration Building located at 105 S. Spruce St., Washington, Illinois.
