 DOs
and

 Don't

to
be
 ques oned
and
interrogated.
The
DRR

a
medium
to
gather
feedback
and
exchange
ideas.
 2.
 Do
tell
about
the
special
achievements
or
the

or
any

 so
that
the
DRR

 acknowledge
the

 3.
 Don't
be

His

is
to
help
you

 help

 4.

prospec ve
members
 and
partners
in
service
about
the
wonderful

82 WHY
ROTARACT?  Friendship
/
Fellowship
/
Community:
In
an
increasingly
complex
world,
Rotaract
provides
one
of
the
most
 basic
platofrm:
the
need
for
friendship
and
fellowship.
It
is
one
of
two
reasons
why
Rotary
began
in
1905.  Personal
Growth
and
Development:
Membership
in
Rotaract
ensures
con nuing
growth
and
educa on
in
 human
rela ons
and
personal
development.  Leadership
Development:
Rotaract
is
an
organiza on
of
leaders
and
successful
people.
Serving
in
Rotaract
 posi ons
is
like
a
college
educa on.
Leadership
is
all
about
learning
how
to
mo vate,
influence
and
lead
 leaders.  Ci zenship
in
the
Community:
Membership
in
a
Rotaract
club
helps
develop
be er
community
ci zens.
 The
average
Rotaract
club
consists
of
the
most
ac ve
ci zens
of
any
community.  Con nuing
Educa on:
Each
week
at
Rotaract,
there
is
a
program
designed
to
keep
members
informed
 about
what
is
going
on
in
the
community,
na on
and
world.
Each
mee ng
provides
an
opportunity
to
listen
 to
different
speakers
on
a
variety
of
 mely
topics.  Fun:
Rotaract
is
a
fun
and
exci ng
place
to
be.  Pres ge:
Rotaract
members
are
prominent
people:
leaders
of
quality,
the
professions,
art,
sports,
and
all
 disciplines.
Rotary
is
the
oldest
and
most
pres gious
service
club
in
the
world.
Its
ranks
include
execu ves,
 managers,
and
professionals
‑
people
who
make
decisions
and
influence
policy.  Ci zenship
in
the
World:
Every
Rotaractor
wears
a
pin
that
says
\"Rotary
Interna onal.\"
There
are
few
places
 on
the
globe
that
do
not
have
a
Rotary
club.
Every
member
is
welcome
‑
even
encouraged
‑
to
a end
any
of
 the
30,000
clubs
in
194
na ons
and
geographical
regions.
This
encourages
new
friendships
in
both
local
and
 world
communi es.  Assistance
When
Traveling:
Traveling
members
can
secure
medical
and
professional
assistance
as
well
as
 services
and
advice
from
fellow
members
throughout
the
world.  Public
Speaking
Skills:
Many
individuals
who
joined
Rotaract
were
uncomfortable
about
speaking
in
public.
 Rotaract
develops
confidence
and
skill
in
public
communica on
and
the
opportunity
to
prac ce
and
perfect
 these
skills.  Entertainment:
 Every
 club
 and
 district
 has
 par es
 and
 ac vi es
 that
 contribute
 to
 a
 diverse,
 yet
 professional
business
life.
Rotaract
holds
conferences,
conven ons,
assemblies,
and
ins tutes
that
provide
 entertainment
in
addi on
to
informa on,
educa on,
and
service.  Development
of
Social
Skills:
Every
week
and
at
various
events
and
func ons,
Rotaract
develops
one's
 personality,
social
skills
and
people
skills.
Rotaract
is
for
people
who
like
people.  :
Rotaract
provides
one
of
the
world's
largest
youth
exchange
programs;
high
school
and
college
clubs
for
 future
Rotarians;
opportuni es
for
spouse
involvement;
and
a
host
of
ac vi es
designed
to
help
family
 members
in
growth
and
the
development
of
family
values.  Voca onal
Skills:
Every
member
is
expected
to
take
part
in
the
growth
and
development
of
his
or
her
own
 profession
or
voca on;
to
serve
on
commi ees
and
to
teach
youth
about
jobs
or
voca ons.
Rotaract
helps
 to
make
each
individual
a
be er
professional.  The
 Development
 of
 Ethics:
 Rotaractor
 prac ce
 a
 4‑Way
 Test
 introduced
 by
 Rotary
 Interna onal
 that
 governs
their
ethical
standards.
Members
are
expected
to
be
ethical
in
business
and
personal
rela onships.  Cultural
Awareness:
Around
the
world,
prac cally
every
religion,
country,
culture,
race,
creed,
poli cal
 persuasion,
language,
color
and
ethnic
iden ty
is
represented
among
members
of
Rotaract.
Rotaract
is
a
 cross
sec on
of
the
world's
most
prominent
ci zens
who
are
aware
of
their
cultures
and
have
developed
a
 love
of
working
with
people
everywhere.
They
become
be er
ci zens
of
their
countries
in
the
process.  Nice
People:
Rotaractors
are
the
nicest
people
on
the
face
of
the
earth.  Absence
of
an
Official
Creed:
Rotaract
has
no
secret
handshake,
no
official
creed,
no
secret
mee ngs
or
 rituals.
It
is
an
open
society
of
men
and
women
who
simply
believe
in
helping
others.  Opportunity
to
Serve:
As
a
service
club,
Rotary's
business
is
mankind
and
its
product
is
service.
This
is
 perhaps
the
best
reason
for
becoming
a
members:
the
chance
to
do
good. District
