03 The Chain | July 2022 KNOW YOUR DRR Our beloved and respected DRR RTR Nandini Bangar is born and based in Ranchi. She was born on 18th August 1997 in Ranchi . She is the elder daughter of Mr Ram Bangar and Mrs Mamta Bangar, having Younger Brother Yash Bangar and Younger Sister Sakshi Bangar. Presently, she is pursuing her MA and applied for B.Ed simultaneously. She completed her schooling from DAV Hehal Ranchi and Graduation from Women's College Ranchi. She loves cooking, travelling, exploring, and making new friends to try new cusinies. Her journey as a Rotaractor began in the year 2016 when she joined the Rotaract Club of Ranchi City Her leadership qualities and her sense of dedication started shining from the first year of her journey itself as she became the vice president of her club for the Rota year 2016-17. Proving her impeccable qualities of a leader, Nandini Bangar became the President of the Rotaract Club of Ranchi City for the Rota year 2017-18! For the same year, she also held the post of the International Service Director of Rotaract District 3250. These experiences fanned the fire of leadership within her and she started walking on the path of leadership to never turn back! In the following Rota Rota year 2019-20 was equally remarkable in our DRR's journey as a year 2018-19, she Rotaractor. In the Rota Year, she held two district-level posts- Rotaract Citation Chairman and Mahadan Zonal Coordinator. She was awarded as became the ZRR of the most valuable team player in Mahadan 5.0 by the Mahadan team. She Zone 4 for which she also received a special certificate of appreciation from Rtn/Rtr Rahul Rajgadia for being the Mahadan Coordinator Proving her worth at every also received the step of her journey and showing the path to everyone who looked up to award for the best her. She took over the responsibilities of the District Rotaract Secretary of ZRR of the year! In the Rotaract district 3250 for the Rota year 2021-22, the same year when she became the District Rotaract Representative-Elect. In the year 2021- the Antaragini 22 she has been awarded as the best District Rotaract Secretary in South conference, Nandini Asia. She attended several District and Multi-District Events. Also Bangar was crowned completed her DRR's Training at Rotaract Zone Institute (RZI) at Barog in as Miss Antaragini in the month of April 2022. the same year. Now that she is the DRR, she is standing on the pinnacle of her Rotaract career in the District but she believes that her journey has just begun! There is so much to learn and so much to do and we need to be together in order to achieve more because- Together Everyone Achieves More

The Chain | July 2022 08 Rotaract Club of Motihari E.C. • On July 1, 2022, the Rotaract Club of Motihari E.C. organized a blood donation camp with the Rotary Club of Motihari and the Rotary Club of Laketown, at the Indian Red Cross society, Motihari. A total of 6 members took part in the noble cause. The District Governor (RID-3250), Rtn Sanjeev Thakur, was the chief guest, and he gave his best wishes and blessings for the New Rota Year 2022–23. • On July 17th, 2022, the Rotaract Club of Motihari E.C. organized its 2nd installation ceremony. Rtn Bindu Singh was the chief guest of the event, who addressed the club and gave their best wishes. Rotaract Club of Saran • On July 10th, 2022, tree planting was done by the Rotaract Club of Saran in Sant Girnari Public School. Former President, Rtr. Ravi Shankar Kumar, and Rtr. Sri Ram Kumar were present on this occasion. • On 17th July 2022, Rotaract Club of Saran took the responsibility to bear the full cost of education of a financially weak student, Chandni Kumari after getting admission in the school. She was provided with dress, book and school bag. • On July 28th, 2022, the collar change of the President, Rtr. Amit Soin, and secretary, Rtr. Shyam Jaiswal, of Rotary Saran took place in the installation ceremony. On this occasion, former President, Rtr. Ravi Shankar Kumar and Rtr. Sri Ram Kumar were present. Rotaract Club of Amrapali • On July 1, 2022, The Rotaract Club of Amrapali organised a Doctor’s Day Feast in Muzaffarpur. A total of 6 members took part in the felicitation. • On July 12th, 2022, the Rotaract Club of Amrapali organized a tree plantation drive in Jamshedpur. A total of eight members took part in the noble cause. • The Rotaract Club of Amrapali organized a Kawariya Seva Sivir in Muzaffarpur on July 24th, 2022. The Chain | July 2022 14 Rotaract Club of Aurangabad • On 1st July 2022, on the auspicious occasion of Doctors' Day Rotary club of Aurangabad felicitated all the doctors of the district, and the Rotaract club of Maurya also joined this program. • On 1st July 2022, the Rotaract Club of Maurya organized a plantation program at Thakurbari Campus situated on Surya Temple Road. The Club planted 21 saplings and the event was conducted under the guidance of Former Ward Councilor Sri Upendra Nath Gupta. • On 9th July 2022, a cultural program was organized at Kendriya School Aurangabad, in which the Rotaract Club of Maurya gave necessary materials to encourage the students. • From 28th July 2022 to 31st July 2022, the Rotaract Club of Maurya provided medicines to the Kawariyas who went to Deoghar to offer water to Lord Shiva Rotaract Club of Buxar • On 1st July 2022, the Rotaract club of Buxar jointly with Rotary Buxar organized Doctor's Felicitation on the occasion of Doctors Day. • On 3rd July 2022, Rotary Buxar organized DG Felicitation in Patna in which the Rotaract club of Buxar had shown active participation and the event was very successful. • On 24th July, 2022, 50 food packets were distributed by the Rotaractors among really needy people at Buxar Railway Station. • On 26th July 2022, on this occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Rotaract club of Buxar gave tribute to all the Soldiers who gallantly served their country without caring about their own life. The sacrifice of all the Martyrs will never be forgotten. Rotaract Club of Patna Capital • On 31st July, the Rotaract Club Of Patna Capital celebrated Friendship day, and on that very day, members were able to get to know each other more. We got to know that friendship is of utility, friendship is pleasure, and friendship is good, and as well as explored the fun park together. ZONE 2

The Chain | July 2022 15 Rotaract Club of Gaya City • On 31st July Rotaract Club Of Gaya City Under the guidance of The New President Rtr Sanjeev Baranwal and Secretary Rtr Akash Jain started the new Rota Year by planting 5 new Saplings near Interstate Bus Depot and at their respective homes. A total of 3 members did the plantation. • On 1st July 2022 the occasion of Doctors Day, Rotaract Club of Gaya City felicitated 10 renowned doctors of Gaya City at their respective clinics or their residences by presenting them saplings and a gift as gratitude for their humanitarian services. Two doctors of them are Senior Rotarians of the City. 5 club members were part of this project. • The Rotaract Club of Gaya City took part in the Rotaract District 3250 first Joint Project Ekatrit-A Paper Soap Distribution and executed it by distributing around 100 paper soaps in different areas of the city among citizens of the towns. At places, members too taught some people the way to use and dispose of paper soaps. This small gesture was well appreciated by the people we served. • The Rotaract Club of Gaya City got a new display board installed at Rotaract Wall of Kindness, Opposite DM Office, Gaya on 10th July 2022. The old board got torn due to heavy winds, and with time. The club also fixed a banner with a new offer for citizens of Gaya: Send a Selfie showing your Kindness and Win a \"Prize\" in which citizens have to click a selfie donating something to the Wall of Kindness and send it to a designated number. Winners would be chosen through a Lucky Draw and will be honored at a big club event. • The Rotaract Club of Gaya City celebrated World Paper Bags Day(12 July) by distributing around 1000 customized medicine envelopes with Rotaract Logo and a social message “USE HELMET- SAVE LIFE” This the initiative was well appreciated and well received by the medical shops we approached. a total of 4 members took part in the project. • The Rotaract Club of Gaya City organized the 9th Club Installation Ceremony-AAGAAZ on 17th July 2022 at Mahabodhi Hotel, Tekuna Farms, Gaya. The Outgoing President Rtr RaviKant Verma and Outgoing Secretary Rtr Kumud Ranjan with the team presented their annual reports, accounts, and awards. New President Rtr Sanjeev Baranwal and New Secretary Rtr Akash Jain were collared. The Chief Guest of the Ceremony was Rtn/Rtr Rahul Rajgadia, President, SEARIC MDIO. Dignitaries present included Rotary District Secretary Rtn Dr. Ratan Kumar, District Rotaract Secretary Rtr Rinku Kumar, Rotary AG Zone 12 Rtn Anurag Poddar, AG Zone 13 Rtn Deepak Chadda, Parent Rotary Club President Rtn Arvind Kumar Sinha, Rotaract Ranchi City President Rtr Shubham Jalan and Club Representatives from all Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs of the City. • The Rotaract Club of Gaya City organized 3 Khichdi Distribution Drives this month on Saturdays 16th July,23rd July, and 30th July respectively, near Station Road or at Station premises. The club served around 300-350 persons each time. Our project each time was sponsored by some club members or self-volunteers from Gaya. A separate team of Club members has been formed to take care of the preparation of Khichdi and the arrangement of biodegradable disposables.6-7 Rotaractors and several self-volunteers took active participation in the execution of the project. • The Rotaract Club Of Gaya City organized a Blood Donation Camp on 24th July 2022 at Blood Bank, ANMMCH, Gaya. A total of 15 Blood Units were collected from Rotaractors and volunteers. The donors were given refreshments there after. ZONE 2

The Chain | July 2022 16 • On Invitation for Felicitation Ceremony organized by Rotary Clubs of Zone 12 and 13 at DAV Rotary Hall, Gaya honor of Prof. Chetan Solanki also referred to as the Solar man of India. The club member PDRR Rtr Anmol Singhal represented the Rotaract Club of Gaya City. Prof Solanki talked about adopting Solar Energy as an energy source for our way of life in cooking, power backup, vehicles, etc , and the bright future of Solar energy in our country. It was an interactive session, Rtr. Anmol shared his views on Solar Energy . Prof. Chetan Solanki from IIT Bombay is the Founder of the Energy Swaraj Foundation and brand ambassador for Solar Energy for the Government of Madhya Pradesh. Rotaract Club of Patna Midtown • RAC Patna Midtown On 1st July, 2022, on the auspicious occasion of Doctors' Day Rotary club of Patna MidTown felicitated Doctor Raushan Bhatt and Celebrated Doctor’s • On 1st July 2022, rotaractors of Rotaract Club of Patna Mid Town spoke about menstrual hygiene and shared awareness on the same. The club distributed approx 50 sanitary napkins to teenagers near Gate 93 Digha Slum. • On 5th July 2022, Rotaract Club Of Patna Midtown collaborated with Rotary Club of Patna Midtown for a plantation Drive where we planted a variety of saplings. On this occasion, the parent club president Rtn. Dr. Ranvir sir, secretary Rtn. D.K Agarwal Sir and Rtn. Abhishek akela sir was present with our club's fellow Rotarians and Rotaractors. • On 5th July 2022, Rotaract Club Of Patna Midtown jointly organized its first club meeting with the parent club Rotary Club of Patna Midtown, in which rotaractors met with their parent club Rotarians and interacted on different upcoming projects and exchanged ideas. Also, new members were introduced to the Rotary Family. Rotary Club of Patna Midtown & Rotaract Club of Patna Midtown successfully decided to collaborate more on future projects so that maximum people can get benefitted from our services. • On 10th July 2022, the Rotaract club of Patna Mid Town along with our parent club Rotary Club of Patna Mid Town, organized a blood donation camp at Anup blood bank, Kankarbagh. A total of 08 people donated their blood along with our president and secretary of the Rotaract club of Patna Mid Town. • On 10th July 2022, the Rotaract club of Patna Mid Town along with the parent club Rotary Club of Patna Mid Town, organized our 2nd blood donation camp of the day at Maa Blood bank, Dariyapur. Total of 09 people donated their blood on the 134th day of the opening of this particular blood bank. ZONE 2

The Chain | July 2022 17 THE GIFT OF The Guatemala Literacy Project has worked for 25 years to improve reading rates. In 1997, Joe READING and Jeff Berninger, brothers from Ohio, were volunteering as English teachers at a Guatemalan When Rotary International President school that had no books. The two launched a project to solve that. The day the books arrived, Jennifer Jones visited a primary school there was a huge celebration, and a Rotarian in a farming village in Guatemala’s dentist volunteering nearby heard the noise and highlands and asked who wants to asked what was going on. “He said this would be become the country’s president, the a perfect project for Rotary,” says Joe Berninger, students’ hands shot into the air. The Chain | July 2022 18 From that initial textbook project, the work has grown to include computer labs, Rise Youth Development Program scholarships, and the Spark Reading Program to provide books and teacher training. Students pay a fee to rent textbooks, and the money is put into a revolving fund, used to replace the books after five years. \"Rotary's donation acts as a seed investment, and when textbooks wear out or become outdated, the school ... can replace their textbooks with their own savings without having to ask Rotary for more funding,\" Lobb says. Moreira, the village school principal, recalls a former student who stayed in classes thanks to a Rise scholarship and is headed to university. The girl read a book about Nobel Prize winner and Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai that Moreira lent her. \"Now this girl wants to be as big as Malala,\" she says. \"It changed her life.\" Rosa Acabal (right) was sure she’d have to drop When Blanca Mactzul was a little girl, out after she finished elementary school. The Chain | July 2022 30 The 36th District Rotaract Assembly, RID 3250, Advait was organized by Rotaract Club of Ranchi City on 14th August 2022 at Federation of Jharkhand, Chamber Bhawan, Ranchi. In this program, a total of more than 250 members of Rotaract, IPDDRs along with Rotarians of Bihar and Jharkhand were also present. The process of check-in and registration started at 9 am. The on-stage program started at 11 am in which the program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by DG RTN Sanjeev Thakur, the chief guest. After that, the welcome statement followed by the national anthem was presented by the hosts RTR Riya Singh and RTR Vanshika Chaturvedi. The report for the tenure 2021-22 was presented by IPDRS (DRR) Nandini Bangar in which the members were informed about the goals and important projects achieved by the district. The collar exchange took place after outgoing DRR RTR Harsh Raj Mishra's speech and officially RTR Nandini Bangar took the charge of DRR for the year 2022- 23.

The Chain | July 2022 31 DRR RTR Nandini Bangar also shared her plan to face the challenges ahead by telling the gathering about the future goals set in her statement. After this, DG RTN Sanjeev Thakur, who was present as the chief guest, presented badges to the district officials according to their posts. In his keynote speech, the Chief Guest said that after the pandemic, there is a need to retake Rotaract back to where it should be. Along with this, he also extended his best wishes to the new district team.

The Chain | July 2022 32 The association of Rotaract Club of Kalimati Jamshedpur, Rotaract Club of Biharsharif, Rotaract Club of Damodar Valley and Rotaract Club of Maurya Aurangabad as partners in the program is unforgettable. In the second session of the program, the annual awards of the year were announced. The session was moderated by PDRR Saurav Prasad. Rotaract Club of Ranchi City played an important role in the whole event as an organizer.

A blood donation camp was also organized as a part of the assembly program where 36 units of blood were collected. Pillars of RID 3250 PDRR Rtn Dilbagh Singh, PDRR Rtn Saurav Prasad, PDRR Rtn Rtr Rahul Rajgadia, IPDRR Rtn Rtr Harsh Raj Mishra, DRRE Rtr Ayush Shaswat also marked their valuable presence.
