ISD 728 COMMUNITY EDUCATION Empowering individuals with disabilities to pursue lifelong learning, leisure and recreation opportunities 763.241.3520 | www.communityed.com Spring 2019 These activities are designed for adults with developmental disabilities (age 18+). Participants in these activities can attend alone or with a staff/assistant they bring along. Participants are asked to register with a staff or family member if personal care assistance is needed. If attending alone, the participant should be able to function independently in a group setting, follow simple directions and communicate their needs. All reasonable accommodations will be made to meet the needs of all participants. Community Education welcomes persons of all abilities to participate in any of the activities we offer. Contact us at least one week in advance if assistance is needed. This includes sign language interpretation. Welcome to H.O.P.E. Welcome to Spring 2019! Dear H.O.P.E. Participants and Friends, It has been a long cold winter! I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to warmer temperatures, longer days and more sunshine! Spring is a great time to get out and experience all that H.O.P.E. has to offer. This spring there are plenty of your favorite activities and a few new ones too. Create your own Spring Garden Pot, try your hand at painting or get Movin’ and Groovin’ with your friends! H.O.P.E. | Mar-May HEALTHY LIVING ARTS & CRAFTS Movin’ and Groovin’ with Friends Make exercise fun with music! In this 3-session class, you will create your own movements and learn some simple stretching and cardio exercises as you dance to different types of music. Learn how music can be used for motivation, exercise and relaxation. Come ready to have fun with music and dance! Wear comfortable clothing and sneakers. Open gym is a supervised recreation time for individuals to work on Please note--there is no scheduled H.O.P.E. staff for their skills in various sports, get a great workout and socialize with these activities. Family rate can be applied to group others who share an interest in athletics. Changes may be made to living situations for up to six people. the schedule, so always check before coming.
