GENERAL INTEREST ADULTSEXPERIENCE THIS!WALKING TOUR: RED CEDAR LANE NEIGHBORHOODRed Cedar Lane, once chosen as the \"Best Street in the Twin Cities\" by Mpls/St. Paul Magazine, is a beautiful secret - easily missed as youdrive by its narrow intersection with Upton Avenue near Minnehaha Creek. The street is part of an area that was laid out in 1904 by JohnJager, who planted rows of red cedars on both sides of the lane. You'll see Jager's house and several others designed by William GrayPurcell and Frederick Strauel. The tour begins at the Lake Harriet Spiritual Center (4401 S Upton Ave, Minneapolis) where there will be a20-minute slide show about the history. You will then drive a few blocks to the corner of Red Cedar Lane and Upton Avenue South to beginthe walking tour. Park on the street or in the lot next to Lake Harriet Spiritual Center.
