The Northern Cape 3D League Events will be in addition to the sanctioned national 3Di events to be held in the Province. The first sanctioned ABO event will be the Diamond 3D Challenge on the 26th and 27th of August 2023 to hosted by Tarentaalrand Safari Lodge. All dates will be confirmed by the end of June 2023 and posted on the various social media platforms. Developing the sport of 3Di Archery for the Province will take time and hard work but I am confident that if we all support the events in one way or the other it can only grow to match anything presented in other provinces. I would like to take the opportunity to thank the various sponsors listed below that assisted with our first ABO sanctioned event held in April 2023, without their efforts it would not have been possible to host the event. Looking to the future, we need long term partners to assist with the development of the events. Our first task is to secure funding to purchase our own 3D life size targets. All it takes is for 20 contributors to each contribute R 1480.00 towards the funding of the targets. I would also like to thank the venue owners for making their venues available to Northern Cape 3D to host the events. You can help developing the sport by sharing the advertising and media, its costs you nothing to share posts related to events. The other way you can assist is by entering events knowing that the competition fees you pay will be used to purchase new targets for you to enjoy at the next event. All these events are designed to provide you the archer, with an opportunity to enjoy a day in sublime wild life sanctuaries. It also allows you to share your passion with your family as all venues have safe and enjoyable facilities for your family to enjoy. Secondly it is allows you to experience “hunting” without the “kill” factor and if you do want to go hunt you will be confident in your execution as you will have shot twenty “animals” prior to your hunt. All the game farms allow bow hunting and you can arrange dates privately with the owners. Lastly you can earn the criteria to receive your provincial and national colours for archery.

As Northern Cape residents we are blessed with an abundance of wild life sanctuaries. I don’t think we always appreciate the beauty of the Northern Cape. We are giving you the benefit of experiencing the Northern Cape and its wild life in selected wild life conservation sanctuaries. Our first event will be the “NORTHERN CAPE 3Di Challenge” on the 26th & 27th of August 2023 hosted by Tarentaalrand Safari Lodge which is just 20 kms from Kimberley on the Boshof Road, this is a sanctioned event that will count towards your national weighted average and ranking. Take note that this does not form part of the NC League. The first league event is on 10 Sept at Marrick. All other league event dates and venues will be confirmed by the end of June 2023 and posted on the various social media platforms. Your support will be appreciated so that we can grow the sport together. Just like other divisions of archery all we want to do is develop the sport of 3Di and hopefully we can do it as a province.
