Attractive tax incentives enticed international companies to make the move, and their workforce did not need much convincing either. Malta is still regarded as a safe country and living on a Mediterranean island is an attractive selling point. “Lettings flourished when iGaming and financial services companies moved their hubs to Malta,” explains Edward Agius, who was RE/MAX Malta’s first letting associate back in 1999, when it was still JK Properties. Mr Agius’ career trajectory mirrors the ascent of Malta’s lettings: as the sector rose, so did his career.
