The AteNEO Networked, Engaged, Optimized (NEO) NORMAL is the Ateneo de Naga University’s approach in providing effective and holistic continuous learning and formation opportunities grounded on the tradition of Jesuit Education and Ignatian Spirituality.

AteNEO Normal Learning • Either online and offline students need to accomplish tasks within a given time. • If internet is limited, the student may work first with the learning packs and upload his answers to the LMS when internet is already available

Mode of Submission • Choose one mode of submission of tasks either online or through offline.

Online / Offline Classes? • The interaction between the students and the teacher does not take place in a synchronous manner. • But from time to time synchronous mode may be utilized by the teacher.

Are the online lessons prerecorded or live? • From time to time, pre-recorded lessons will be made available and seldom that the teacher will deliver live lessons. Live lessons will be recorded.

Is there a schedule to follow? • As parents/guardians, you may set a routine following the schedule given by the school MWF / TTHS w/ 2 week cycle. • It is also possible to give the child a more flexible time as long as s/he submits all the requirements at the given time.

Are students required to wear uniform? • No, during synchronous sessions one should wear according to JHS dress code. It would also help in the disposition of the child if s/he wears proper clothing attire everyday.

Do we still need to buy textbooks this school year? • No need! The teacher made learning packs, learning management system and e-resources were chosen and designed carefully to cater to the needs of the students.

What if the student does not have a gadget or internet connection at home? • The school will provide learning packs or modules so that students with no gadget or internet access may continue learning. • May include a Flash Drive containing videos, e-learning materials, etc.

How frequent should the parent/guardian go to school to get materials or submit required works? • Modules that are given at one time is good for two weeks. • parent/guardian is expected to go to school to pick up and submit every two weeks.

How will attendance be monitored? • Though most activities are self-paced, the LG moderator will from time to time check and monitor his/her students. Also the LMS will keep track the activities of the student.

What are the supports expected from Ateneo to help students cope with the new learning set-up? • As a Jesuit school, AdNU JHS will continue to support and accompany our students in the creation of a hope-filled future - amid the uncertainty and challenges

What are the supports expected from Ateneo to help students cope with the new learning set-up? • ADNU JHS has established a Help desk to proactively address inquiries and concerns promptly, consistently, and fairly to ensure continuity of learning given the situation.

What are the supports expected from Ateneo to help students cope with the new learning set-up? • The LG moderator and his/her moderating class will get together online (students with no capacity to go online will be contacted through phone or texts)

What are the supports expected from Ateneo to help students cope with the new learning set-up? • Guidance counselors will continue its services to ensure the mental health and wellbeing of its students. • Online Masses, retreats and recollections will continue. Each day of learning will start and end with a Consciousness Examen.

Can a student or parent consult the teacher anytime? • There may be a one-on- one mentoring, or group consultation periods with respective teachers (at a given time) to guide the students as they work on the learning packs.

Can a student or parent consult the teacher anytime? • The subject area teachers will go online on a specific time schedule for online lectures and/or consultations.

Can a student or parent consult the teacher anytime? • Each subject area teacher will contact the student at least once in every module which must be logged and reported to the chair at the end of every month.

Parents Orientation • Starts on July 21 option for online and face to face orientation is available • Orientation by batches • Includes orientation on the Neo Normal, cyber security, schedule, tour of the LMS, distribution of the first batch of learning packs
