2020 BCCA NATIONAL I cannot even begin to tell you how much joy I felt when we won Best of Breed at the 2020 BCCA National Specialt;y it was the thrill of a lifetime to be the owner-handler, co-breeder and co-owner. I would like to thank our judge Mr. Michael Canalizo. He is a well-known Afghan Hound breeder who has won many Bests in Show and Bests in Specialty.Thank you for recognizing the fine qualities ands true beardie type that Remmee exhibits. I would also like to thank the BCCA for finding the way to hold the National under the circumstances of the past year. I would be remiss if I did not thank my longtime friend and breed mentor, Nona Albarano. Nona has always been there for me over the lst 38 years since I started in beardies. Remmee and his sire Dilynn now have both become National Specialty Best of Breed winners. Remmee showed his potential when he won Best in Sweepstakes at the 2016 NCBCC specialty, and the following year won Winners Dog and Best of Winners at the NCBCC specialty. June 6, 2006 - July 15, 2021 CH Ha’Penny Harwood Hunter ex CH Ha’Penny Some Like It Hot ROM ROMAX CH Ha’Penny Lady Brown Of Harwood Darling Nutmeg was from the last Pepper litter, born by Caesarian in the middle of the night with Vicki Null and me assisting the veterinarian. That litter was the first one Vicki and I attempted after Dick’s death. Vicki fell in love from the beginning, having taken the smallest pups home when Pepper had to be taken off them. She and Bruce helped me save all nine, and they all had great lives. For the last five years, Nutmeg lived with me. She was Vicki’s heart dog, and I only took her when it was clear Vicki would not be coming home from the hospital. Nutmeg was a happy girl, fitting right in with her sister Chili and the other dogs in my house. She adopted puppy Coco after Nell passed away giving birth, and guided her in the ways of the house and of being a great beardie. She was gone in a flash, which was shocking for me, but merciful for her. She was her cheery, happy self until a few days before she died. Vicki was was waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge, and they are now reunited. Nutmeg was everything a beardie should be, and more. Have fun with Vicki, your Mom Pepper and your sister Chili. I will see you again. Mrs. J.R. Schneider Ha’Penny 34
