On our cover Can CH Am GCH Dreamchaser Strathearn Acclaim RE HT NJP BCAT Thank you to Deb Quadland for allowing Archie to come live with us in Maryland; and more importantly, for crafting the breeding that brought together the genes of the exciting Italian Dog, International CH Ops I Did It Again Del Cuore Impavido, BIS winner at the 2015 World Dog Show and those of Deb’s lovely girl dog, Can Am CH Dreamchaser Strathearn Legacy, 2013 Winners Bitch at the BCCA National. To date, Archie’s litter has produced four American champions and three titled in both the US and Canada. Truly an international success! Archie has proven himself to be a fellow of many talents -whether running agility, FastCAT or performing in rally or a herding event; his enthusiasm is contagious and success follows. He has a record of show ring accomplishment that is enviable, starting with his BOW award at the 2019 BCCA National through to his most recent BOS award at the Bearded Collie Club of Canada’s 2022 National. He is a gentleman with puppies and is definitely in the “best of pets” category, liking nothing better than to lie at your feet while you are typing on the computer. His most recent accomplishment has been to sire a lovely litter of puppies by Winnie, GCHB Briarpatch Give Your Heart Away RE PT OA NAJ NF BCAT. Three girls and two boys, all black and white with symmetrical white markings and beautiful headpieces, joined us on September 8, 2022. We are watching their development with much anticipation. Lucy Campbell & Tom Dixon, Briarpatch & Strathearn Bearded Collies 2211 Stockton Road, Phoenix, MD 21131 • 443-212-5134 Editor’s Letter This issue will have come out after our National Specialty. I hope everyone had a good trip and enjoyed this year’s main event. Reservations for all ads for the specialty issue are due by November 1st. Copy and text for Bulletin designed ads are due no later than November 15th. Camera-ready ads must be submitted by November 30th. Advertising specialty rates are on page 11. The above deadline needs to be adhered to if we want to publish the magazine in a timely manner. When a closing date occurs, if the number of advertising pages is insufficient to produce a magazine. I have to issue notices on Facebook and contact advertisers with the hope that they will decide to advertise. This delays the production of the magazine which trickles down to printing and shipping. It also affects the closing date of the next issue. The issue you are presently reading had an original closing date of August 15th but actually closed September 15th. This issue has many wonderful ads, a five page Performance feature and a three page First Beardie feature. Most of these ads were received after the due date of August 15th. Hopefully, we can respect closing deadlines with future issues. It should only take four weeks from closing date to printer, four weeks from printer to fulfillment house and two weeks from fulfillment house to delivery. If we adhere to the closing date of November 1st, we should receive the Specialty Issue early to mid-January (depending on the holidays). Thank you for your cooperation and advertising. I hope you enjoy this issue as much as I did. Lillian Esposito 9

Norm asked if Luke could visit the patient and they said, “Yes.” Norm maneuvered Luke to the patient’s hand by the bed and he gradually began petting Luke with his fingertips. The nurse and physical therapist couldn’t believe it. They told Norm they could not get the patient to move during therapy and here he was petting Luke. Once we finished our visit, we were told that the girl sat up much faster to pet Luke than she had in earlier attempts during her physical therapy. 36
