Trotter, at the Sunshine State Herding Group Association on 12/13/19.  Flynn won this Breed over top ranked Beardies from all over the States.  Flynn also won Best of Opposite Sex at the Brevard KC on 12/11/19, by Judge Joan Luna Liebes. I was so proud of Flynn as he showed against all those top ranked dogs in all 5 shows in Florida. Flynn has only been shown by Jean Gauchat-Hargis and Josh Hargis since 11/1/2019. During the last 6 weeks of 2019, Flynn ended the year, ranking #16 Breed, and #8 All-Breed, Canine Chronicle.  During those 6 weeks, Flynn won 4 Group 1’s, and 3 Group 2’s, in addition to other Group Placements. This was during the first weeks of showing and working together with Jean and Josh, I am so very proud of this Team! For the month of January, 2020, Flynn is #3 Breed and #6 All-Breed in the Canine Chronicle Stats. I am very thankful for the care that Jean and Josh started and continue to pro- vide Flynn, showing him happy and with such elegance. I want to thank Flynn’s breeders, Ruth Colavecchio & Jean Gauchat-Hargis for such a wonderful litter! 5 of 6 pups are GCH and 1 pup, Vinny is HC 2; other pups are working strongly toward their Herding Championships. I also want to acknowledge Ruth Colavecchio and her breeding program, initiated in the late 1970’s. I wanted a Bearded Collie, but had no knowledge of anyone who owned one of these shaggy dogs.  To my amazement, I happened to be working with Ruth’s sister, Carol and met the first Beardie to come into my life, CH Aellen’s Cocoa Joe HIC ROM, what a CHIC #112052 brown Ambassador to the breed! I got my first Beardie from BC-4393G32M-VP1 Ruth and I went to my first  National Speciality in BC-Eye 161/33M-PI Washington, 1989. His name was Aellen’s Eye of The Tiger, Ty, BC-TH582/31M-PI and at that Speciality he went Winners Dog! How exciting for a Newbie! I was hooked and this changed my life. Some of us look forward to a new champion or that special win at a Specialty; others have been diligently training in performance, while others have been looking forward to that special litter/breeding. May your journey to accomplish your goal be as rewarding as the goal you wish to attain. This issue we have photo essays on the two most prestigious conformation shows of the year, the AKC National Championship and the Westminster Kennel Club. Congratulations to GCHG Scott’s Lady Liberty “Ginger” on winning Best of Breed at both shows! Carol Wathen-Thomas has placed an ad on her beautiful girl “Ginger” in this issue. Another highlight of the issue is our Stud Dog section. I am very happy to report that we have eight full pages of our beautiful boys with pedigree information as well as test results. Each one of the boys featured is a lovely representation of our breed. You may have received two copies of the last issue. Our fulfillment house mailed 100 magazines without postage. Since we were not sure if the Post Office would deliver the magazines, we mailed out a second copy. We apologize for the inconvenience.
