HERITAGE HISTORYThe Royal Connaught Boat club, 148 years old, was established in1868 under the name “Poona Boat Club” on the scenic banks ofMula-Mutha River located in the heart of Pune city.The club was renamed as “Poona Royal Connaught Club” in1889 to honor the Royal His Highness the Duke of Connaught, thecommander-in-chief of Bombay Army. In 1928, the Club’s namewas changed to “Royal Connaught Boat Club”.It has been home to many outstanding sports personalities andhas been providing excellent facilities like Sailing, Boating, Rowing,Billiards, Tennis Court, Table Tennis, Card Room, Swimming Pool,Health Club and Children’s Park.
