NOVEMBER 29, 2021 ISSUE 2 THE DAILY ‘O’ WHAT IS HAPPENING AT THE O… Senior Stresses By Emily Rhodes After years of being told you get to Canoeing Field Trip relax your senior year, I can confirm it is a lie. There is so much riding on By: Kaiyenne West your senior year and nobody can do it but you. There are scholarship I went to the canoeing field trip to experience nature and what animals live in that applications, college applications, the habitat. Almost my whole class and students from other grades attended the field trip. I pressure to join clubs, sports, get good was in a group with two of my friends, and we went canoeing together. At first, it was grades, take higher level courses, get a hard for all of us to obtain balance, but once we started, we got the hang of it. The group job, and get your license and a car. On also looked at different water species such as fish and crabs. We observed the different top of all that there is rejection and types of species and how their lives were affected from their environment. The trip went failure. The fear of knowing there is a well. It was very fun and informational. I would recommend going if you haven’t before chance you won't get into your dream school and even if you get in how will ! you afford it? Scholarships are out there but you won’t get every scholarship you apply to. While you can have a job it can take time away from doing schoolwork, clubs and sports, this can be especially hard when taking AP classes or dual enrollment. There is another factor most don’t consider either, driving. If you haven’t or couldn’t get your license in your junior year that is just an added stress to your plate senior year. Then comes getting a car, car payments, insurance, and to do all that you will need a job. Some parents will help but you need to talk to them about that because not all parents are willing to pay everything and some will help but will set requirements for you in order for them to help you, like getting a job, good grades, etc.. There are so many things going on in your senior year and nobody can prepare you for it but yourself. Don’t wait till the last minute because the stress of waiting can be worse than the stress of turning it in or doing something. The quicker you turn something in the quicker you hear back and the faster you can regroup and come up with another plan, or if you get in the faster you can work to make sure it is possible to get done.
