Gianni the Giraffe lives in London, in one of those busy and crowded airports. One day, his little owner Lucy lost him there, while running with her family to catch the last flight

Unsure where to go, Gianni decided to stay in that busy place, and he found shelter in one of those photobooths that people forget about.

Sometimes, when he gets bored of watching people coming and going with their heavy suitcases, Gianni jumps into a suitcase to see where it leads. This is how all his adventures begin.

Today, Gianni spots an interesting looking brown suitcase with a big tag on it. “The luggage tag says A U S T R A L I A.” “Mmm… I wonder where that is” says Gianni, as he jumps up and hides inside.

During the flight, someone opens the overhead locker and Gianni sneaks out to look through the window. He spots a huge pink lake down below and asks himself “how is that possible? I thought all lakes were blue.”

Gianni climbs back into the suitcase for landing. When he jumps again, he finds he is now in a car. He makes sure nobody is watching him, and bounces out of the window. “Wow, it’s really sunny here! I’d better wear my sunglasses.” thinks Gianni.

Gianni turns around and sees a brown animal bouncing towards him.

“G’day. I’m Kristie the Kangaroo” says the bouncy animal. “Who are you?” Gianni looks at the kangaroo nervously, but then replies “Hi… I am Gianni the Giraffe. Nice to meet you. I’ve just arrived here. Would you mind showing me around?” he asks.

“I would love to, Gianni, but I’m afraid I don’t have time.” says Kristie in a worried voice. “You see, I have a friend who is stuck up a tree and afraid of falling down. I need to find someone who can persuade him to climb down.”

Gianni offers to help and they walk until they find Kyle the Koala, shaking at the top of a tree.

“Come down Kyle, I promise we will catch you if you fall!” shouts Kristie. “No way!” replies Kyle “I am too scared. I will have to stay up this tree forever.”

Gianni tries to think of a way to help Kyle. Suddenly he has an idea. “Come with me, Kristie” says Gianni to the kangaroo, “I know how to help Kyle. We need to find some sticks so we can build a ladder.”

The two friends work together and, in a blink of an eye, the ladder is finished. Kyle takes a deep breath and slowly climbs down the ladder. “You were so brave, Kyle.” says Kristie, “I knew you could do it!” “Thank you!” beams Kyle. “All that courage has made me quite hungry…”.

“Oh, I know exactly what we paw pawneed. Gianni, have you ever tried a ?” asks Kristie as she starts bouncing towards a tree. “Uhm…a paw what…?” says Gianni, feeling a bit confused. “Try this” says Kristie, offering him a strange green fruit. “This is a paw paw fruit. You can find it everywhere here in Australia, and I love it!”

Kristie keeps bouncing until they reach a wide quiet beach. Gianni is amazed by all the sand and sea.

“This is beautiful, Kristie” sighs Gianni.

Gianni and his friends eat their fruit on the beach and watch as the sun goes down. Then Gianni feels it is time to go home. He says goodbye to his new friends and starts walking away.

He turns around for one last glance at that endless blue, where the sea and the sky seem to meet far away.
