Welcome to CV/SV! We are so excited to have you here! Although things are a little different this year, we are ready to party, We have some fun events in store for you! Currently our office is a “No Contact” office, but we can be reached via phone 480-977-3824 or email [email protected] to answer any questions you may have! If you wish to purchase tickets please visit www.cal-am.com/concerts. This can be done from our Computer lab where you can also print out your tickets. If you have issues purchasing or printing, please contact us and we will be glad to help! Make sure to check out the bulletin boards located around the resort and Portales 1 for the latest information and posters of all the fun upcoming events!   WIRELESS INTERNET: Wi-Fi Hotspots are available in and around the Resort area. To ensure availability for all Guests, please log off when finished using the Internet. Downloading or streaming Movies and Music is NOT allowed as it uses too much bandwidth and will prevent other Residents from accessing Wi-Fi services. WIFI PASSCODE: 4802888844 Canyon Vistas Wi-Fi service is provided for the convenience of Residents of Canyon Vistas, only. Please do not jeopardize the efficacy of this service by sharing our passcode with residents of neighboring resorts.   RECYCLING BIN RECYCLING BIN IS LOCATED ACROSS FROM THE MAIL ROOM AND LAUNDRY ROOM PARKING. ITEMS YOU CAN RECYCLE: 2 

      HOW TO OPERATE CARD DISPENSER FOR WASHER/DRYER  The Washers and Dryers in the laundry room take pre-paid value cards ONLY.  Purchase your pre-paid value card from the dispenser machine located in the laundry room. For your initial purchase of the value card, use a $5.00 bill ONLY. The one-time cost of each value card is $3.00. Therefore, you will have $2.00 left on the card.  Anytime you want to add more value to the card, simply insert the card into the card dispenser with a $1, $5, $10, or $20 bill and that amount will be added to the value card. There is no charge for adding money to your card.  The price to Wash or Dry is $1.75  To ensure the Dryers will run properly, please remember to not overload the Dryers.  If you lose or damage your card, you will have to purchase a NEW card using a $5.00 bill. There are NO REFUNDS on these cards.

Either are acceptable formats for all mail and preprinted address labels. This will make it much easier for the mailroom to sort and deliver your mail. We also have several Guests with the same last name, which makes it difficult to determine items that arrive with “Grandma & Grandpa Smith” and have no site # indicated. Questions can be directed to the supervisor at the Apache Junction Post Office at 480-983-7186. The address is: 151 W. Superstition Blvd Apache Junction, AZ 85120-9998 Direction to the Apache Junction Post Office: - Exit Canyon Vista Resort, turn right, take the U-turn on the left lane and continue West on US Highway 60 (Superstition Freeway). - Take the Exit ramp 199 to Old West Hwy. - Turn right on E. Old West Hwy (S. Goldfield Rd.) - Turn right on S. Idaho Rd. (AZ Hwy 88) - Turn Left on W. Superstition Blvd., Post Office is on your left.  

    1. Do not feed coyotes or wildlife. The number one most effective way to prevent coyote attacks in your neighborhood is to eliminate wildlife feeding. Coyotes that are fed in residential neighborhoods can lose their fear of people and may eventually test humans (and pets) as possible prey. Intentional feeding, such as bait stations in yards or parks, should be strictly avoided. However, many people unintentionally feed coyotes by leaving pet food or garbage out at night or having large bird feeders. Coyotes are usually not interested in bird food, but bird feeders often attract rodents, especially squirrels, which then attract coyotes. If you are seeing an increase in coyotes, you should additionally review your own actions to ensure compost piles and trash bins are not allowed to be a source of food. Although coyotes seem to have a natural inclination to avoid human-related food, this can change when prey populations are low, or if the coyotes are young and haven’t yet learned to hunt effectively. 2. Do not let pets run loose. Coyotes probably live nearby, even if you don't know it, so do not let pets run loose. When hiking in parks, keep dogs on leashes. Pets left outside, even with fencing, remain at risk for predation and unnecessary conflict. Do not leave your pets unattended outside, not even for a second. Remember, electric fences may keep your pets contained but do not keep other animals away. Free-ranging domestic cats and feral cat colonies may also serve to attract coyotes; it is important that domestic cats be kept indoors and that feral cats be spayed or neutered to control this population. Bringing food inside when outdoor cats are not feeding might alleviate part of this coyote attractant. 3. Do not run from a coyote. When you encounter a coyote, shout or throw something in its direction. Do not run away. Do not play victim if you can help it. If a coyote seems intent on defending a certain area, particularly around pupping season (May), your best bet may be to alter your route to avoid conflict with a normally calm animal; understand that there may be seasonal patterns of behavioral changes and act accordingly (see Coyote 748's story). We recommend if you are out walking that you carry some sort of noise maker with you (some have reported success scaring off coyotes by shaking a can of rocks). If you see a coyote during the daytime, you should exhibit caution, as that coyote may have become habituated to humans (and may be more likely to attack). If you are approached by a coyote, you should yell, wave your arms, and/or throw something at the coyote (do not run away). 4. Repellents or fencing may help. Some repellents may work in keeping coyotes out of small areas such as yards, although these have not been tested thoroughly for coyotes. Repellents may involve remotely activated lights or sound-making devices. Fencing may keep coyotes out of a yard, particularly if it is more than six feet in height with a roll bar across the top. Spray repellents (pepper spray, etc.) that you can carry with you have been reported with only moderate to no success. 5. Do not create conflict where it does not exist. If a coyote is acting as a coyote it should be avoiding humans and pets. Do not seek out opportunities to haze or otherwise aggravate the animal. Embracing communal respect is key.
