April, the Month of Humor! * LAUGH MY AGE OFF! A woman told her friend, “I feel like my body has gotten totally out of shape, so I got my doctor’s permission to join a fitness club and start exercising.” She said, “So, I decided to take an aerobics class for seniors. I bent, twisted, gyrated, jumped up and down, and perspired for an hour. But...by the time I got my leotards on, the class was already over.” ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A retired man now volunteers to entertain patients in assisted living homes and hospitals. He visited one hospital in Brooklyn and brought along his portable keyboard. After telling jokes and singing songs at patients’ bedsides, he said farewell and, “I hope you get better.” One elderly gentleman replied, “I hope you get better, too.” ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You know you’re getting older when you have a party and your neighbors don’t realize it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If my body were a car, I would trade it for a newer model. Every time I cough, sputter, or sneeze, my radiant leaks and my exhaust backfires. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are four stages of old age: You forget names. Never criticize someone until you’ve walked a mile in Then you forget faces. their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, Next, you forget to zip up. you’ll be a mile away, and you’ll have their shoes. And finally, you forget to zip down. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How can you increase your 70-year-old husband’s heart rate? Tell him you’re pregnant. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where can single men over the age of 70 find younger women who are interested in them? In the bookstore, under fiction. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you’re 20 and you drop something, you pick it up. But, when you’re 80 and you drop something, you simply decide you don’t need it anymore. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A senior is sitting at a bar when a young woman walks in and sits down a few seats over. The senior man gets up, shuffles over to her, leans in, and asks, “So… do I come here often?” ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Prayer for Seniors’ wellbeing: God grant me the Senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather. Not howling and screaming like the passengers in his car. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Famous Songs Rewritten Just for Seniors Herman's Hermits - Mrs. Brown, You've Got A Lovely Walker Where does the General Beatles - With A Little Help From Depends keep his armies? Birthstone: Diamond Flower: Daisy and the sweet pea History: In the initial Roman calendar Apr il was the 2nd month of the year until January and February were added in 700 BC. It is believed that the name April comes from the Latin word \"to open\" and describes the trees opening at springtime. It’s possible that the name comes from the Greek goddess Aphrodite, (or A bril Schmeckle, or Avril Celador, for that matter). It is the second month of the Spring season. It is a time of planting and spring cleaning. April in the northern hemisphere is equal to October in the southern hemisphere. The famous Boston Marathon is held during April. April is the month when the professional baseball season begins in the U.S. April is the best month of the year to watch meteor showers. The Titanic sank April 15, 1912. Famous Birthdays in April It’s been said, Marvin Gaye, April 2, 1939 “April showers Jackie Chan, April 7, 1954 bring May flowers.” Leonardo da Vinci, April 15, 1452 Charlie Chaplin, April 16, 1889 Somewhere. Jack Nicholson, April 22, 1937 William Shakespeare, April 23, 1564 Yuma? Not so much. 11
