FROM THE ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR Hello from the Activities Office! I am looking forward to the upcoming fall season and meeting all of you. There are so many exciting activities to choose from at Valle del Oro, I still can’t keep them all straight! Lucky for us in Arizona, we don’t have to “fall behind” on our fun! Join us for Coffee and Donuts at 8:30 AM on October 12th and 26th. Grab a dobber and come down to the Ballroom for Bingo starting Tuesday nights on October 12th at 6:30 pm. On October 20th, meet in the Ballroom to watch “Jumanji -The Next Level” along with brats, burgers and fries for $7.50. You can’t have a movie without popcorn and soda; no worries, it’s on the house! Get your dancing shoes ready because Music on the Patio starts up again on the 12th. Let the line dancing commence. For that matter, let all dancing commence all month long, ending with a Halloween party at the Haunted Mansion (Ballroom). Prizes for costumes will given for outstanding individual, couple and group costumes so get those creative juices flowing! It is sure to be a fang-tastic night. I forgot to mention there will be free root beer floats too! In November we will be honoring our Veterans on Wednesday the 10th. If you have served in the military and are a resident at VDO, please register at the box office or email me. We will need your name, branch of service, the years you served and your phone number. We also need a picture from when you served as well as a picture from today. If you have sent photos from previous years, we still have them, just let us know so we are sure to have you on the list as attending. My email is: [email protected]. As they return to rescue one of their own, the players will have to brave parts unknown from arid deserts to snowy mountains, to escape the world's most dan- gerous game. Activities Director I am so excited to start as the new Activities Director at Valle del Oro. My career began in NJ & NYC and even- tually brought me to SLC where I was a Visual Merchandising Regional Mgr. Basically my job was to make the interior and windows of various stores look inviting, exciting, and fun. I then stopped working to raise my 3 kids but the moving continued. I left SLC for a 2 yr. stint in Scottsdale then onto 19 years in WA. In WA I was on every event planning committee that I could fit into my busy schedule. As the kids grew older and I had a little more time on my hands I joined the board for the National Charity League where I took the position of VP of Programming, planning all of the meetings, events, speakers and parties. I moved back to Scottsdale one year ago and am so thrilled to start working again. I am so lucky to do what I love; decorating, planning. ensuring lots of fun and games and, of course, serving great food. That is the game plan for the upcoming year. The best part is, this time I get paid! Let the party begin! 4
