From the Managers A new year is upon us, which for some of us is another chance at fulfilling those New Year’s resolutions we’ve set forth for ourselves. Where do these desires of resolve to change come from? It could be that feeling we get from a sense of accomplishment, like proving to oneself that you are the one in control of your destiny…whispering to your inner ego, I will become the best, Tennis, Shuffle board or Pickle/Bumbee ball… player or I will shed 20 pounds by this summer. Yes, our goals have taken on a new shape since stepping onto Cal-Am turf and that is a very “good thing”! Becoming a part of the Montesa family definitely has its privileges. Hopefully, along with them is a sense of belonging to a great community, which transcends beyond our achievements and finds us feeling relaxed and energized to get out and meet up with old friends, as well as creating new and possibly unexpected friendships. You never know where a simple good morning or hello could lead. Does anyone remember that famous line from the movie about the football sports agent, Jerry McGuire? “You had me at hello!” Of course, there was quite a bit of monologue that transpired before that captivating moment. That’s the beauty of Hollywood. Getting back to our life here at Montesa. It’s pretty sweet, especially this time of year knowing there’s plenty of blustery and bitter cold weather happening up yonder. January can also be a time of reflection and new beginnings. These past couple of years have tested our tenacity and strength, to live boldly. We’ve learned, sometimes it’s not a bad thing to play it safe, living a little outside of our comfort zone will not break our spirit and whatever curve ball comes our way, we will bob and weave and find new ways to give, get and share joy with those we love and care about. New Year’s wishes for our Montesa family: Happy New Year to you! From Our Activities Director Welcome 2022. It’s time to set sail on the USS Montesa. The month of January will be “Yachts of Fun” here at Montesa. We will be sailing to Italy-Cuba-England- New York City and then back to Montesa. Each week will be a different destination. An Italian Dinner the first week at a Cozy Italian Restaurant. Quiet romantic music playing in the background. Music on the patio will have some added surprises. Then off to Cuba for a night in Havana. Join us on the pool patio when we enter England for some food and music. This month we will be hosting 2 of the Cal-Am Concerts. Uptown” and “One of these Nights’. We will also have our own concert with a group “Ship Happens”. Be sure to look through the newsletter for all the details. It’s time to set sail and have Yachts of Fun at Montesa. I want everyone to know, I now have a new “partner” in sales and her name is Patti Capozzolo. Patti is bringing us her years of real estate experience from Delaware and Pennsylvania but has also lived in Florida and New York.
