VDO This cowboy season is almost over and boy did we have fun! We started the party with, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Halloween shindig and followed up with a big welcome back, Uptown Hoedown. VDO didn’t stop there. Yeehaw, we had horse and wagon rides, Wyatt Earp performed in the ballroom, Yellowbird Indian dancers enthralled us on the patio and we celebrated “A Thing Called Love” for Valentine’s Day and 50th Anniversaries in proper western style. Teton Ken and his trusty mule gave us interesting stories on the Lost Dutchman. Grandkids day was a rootin’ tootin’ great time including line dancing lessons, barnyard inflatables and tasty grub. We had a lot of rain this season but that didn’t stop us from enjoying a gorgeous boat ride on the Desert Belle at Lake Saguaro or the Cal-Am Golf Tournament at Talking Stick. We ended in March with the gentleman Doc Holliday, filling us in on the, “Story Hollywood Didn’t Tell”, as well as the Happy Trails party complete with a foil pack dinner, a cowboy on stilts, and of course, 3 bands! Can you say, how the west is fun? The Activities Office will be planning all summer to make next year just as exciting, if not more so! Planning parties, booking bands, finding new entertainers, that’s what we do. We will also all be taking a little time off to do some traveling and spending time with our families and friends. Enjoy your summer, find your joy and we look forward to seeing you next season! Train yourself to find the blessing in everything.
