What ourGraduates say.......Main Text 18“ One of the highlights of the course was ‘Rescue Diver’. My attitude changed, I was no longer just a recreationaldiver having fun in the ocean with friends. Being able to travel around, divingsome of the most well regarded dive sites in the country, such as the RainbowWarrior and Canterbury Wrecks and the Poor Knights. That’s one of the great thingsabout being in Auckland.Spending field trips away as a group every few weeks was a good way to unwindand escape for a few days at a time. The HMNZ Canterbury wreck was incredible.Descending down into 20m+ visibility with dolphins circling us is certainly anexperience I will never forget.Another highlight was Northern Arch out at the Poor Knights. It’s almost too hard todescribe what it is really like. Being down around 30m and looking up and clearlybeing able to see the birds flying above the surface is a surreal feeling.Diving really does open up a whole new world to you.The I.E (PADI instructor’s exam) itself was in a strange way actually a highlight ofthe year, too. After the anticipation for 9 months, it was by far theclimax of the year and it was so satisfying to qualify and tohave everyone in my group do so well too was a pretty cool feeling. “Lachie Makene, Graduate (worked at Dive HQ, went on further study) 2013.“Awesome day diving today at Mathesons Bay. Few pics of what we have been up tolately on the Westhaven Facebook page. Big ups to the team at Dive Hq Westhavenfor making it happen for us and selling us all appropriate and good quality dive gearfor doing our course. Cheers team.
