Description: Sri Lanka has received an outstanding natural environment. It's home to over 122 species, including 227 reptiles, 204 birds, and approximately 3,212 flowering plants. The Sri Lanka government has taken firm steps to safeguard these endangered species along with their habitat by enforcing protection areas. Further enhancing this, the Government has established additional national park and reserve locations, such as Wilpattu Park located in Sri Lanka's North. These parks boast highly skilled staff that conducts research, observes animal activity, and fights against poaching. The government of Sri Lanka has implemented strict regulations that aim to combat illegal hunting, fishing, and trade in rare and exotic species. Such measures highlight the significance of ensuring the conservation of wildlife in Lanka, as well as demonstrate government-led initiatives towards the protection of the environment.
