Before planting, the pit should be dug a month ahead and let the sun solarize it. If a tree doesn’t grow and neither dies but remains dwarf, then loosen the soil surface around the tree with a crow bar or a spade without damaging the roots. He now harvests his bees twice a year during Dec/Jan and June/July yielding on an average an annual honey production of 80-90 litres which is sold at a rate of Rs.400/litre for common honey and Rs.800/litre for medicinal honey produced from stingless bees. He introduced high quality hybrid horticulture crops in his 3 acres by planting saplings of 500 oranges, 300 mangoes, 450 litchi and 200 pomegranates procured

Mr.Temjen earned a gross income of Rs 5, 19,600 from his integrated farming system adopting Fish and orchard. In his Integrated Farming System, the highest income is from fishery where 3 quintals of fish are harvested twice a year and sold in the local market and sometimes even in the village itself at Rs 180 per kg. With the income from sale of fish he has been able to employ 1 worker on full time basis to look after his orchards and fishery with a monthly salary of Rs 3,500/-. The members were trained on silkworm rearing, reeling and weaving by the sericulture department who also provided

In order to run their unit, the group members regularly cultivate tapioca crop in an area of about 2-3 acres for silkworm rearing. A trace of its early cultivation is not known nevertheless Ghokimivillage boast of its success in groundnut cultivation among the villages under Zunheboto district. Smti.TokuliSwu, a widow and mother to a lone son decided to grow groundnuts back in 2008 on her small plot of land after seeing the success of other women SHG’s in her village. She started cultivating

It was in the year 2013 ATMA Ghathashi Block under Zunheboto district intervened by organizing training on the different package and practices of groundnut in the village. During early eighties out of pure passion since his village is blessed with perennial source of water he dug a fishery pond of 30 × 15 ft. dimension where he reared common carp. He attended training on fisheries held at Calcutta in 1998 after which his farming capacity both his skill and economic condition improved to some extent. His first contact with ATMA was in 2011 when training was conducted at his village. There he got the platform to share his problems and hardship by interacting with the officials. By that time he already had 4 fishery ponds. The officials visited his fish farm and recognizing the immense potential, decided to open a Farm school under supervision of ATMA.
