From the Principal's Desk \"Haste makes waste\" A long time ago lived a king who loved to help his subjects in every possible way. Everyone was happy in his kingdom, thought the king. So one day he set out in disguise to a colony where the blacksmith lived. He saw a young boy who was eight years old, crying his eyes out. The king went close to him and asked him why was he crying. The boy said the king of this land is a tyrant because he has killed his father. The king was curious to know why he was termed a tyrant. The young boy, whose name was Vikas, said that his father had made the wheels for the king’s chariot but on the day of fixing them he fell sick and his friend fixed the wheels. In a war, the wheels of the chariot came out as the screws were not properly tightened. The king would have lost his life but his minister came to his rescue. Later, the blacksmith was hanged to death. All of this was done without any inquiry into the incident. The king was full of remorse, and he promised to do justice to Vikas. Upon his return to the palace, he ordered a complete inquiry into the incident and they were able to nab the culprit. He was a vassal of the enemy kingdom and had deliberately done it to kill the king. The king was full of remorse, he gave a job to Vikas's Mother at his palace and took care of young Vikas. When the young lad came of age, he became the chief commander of the king's army. Justice had been done. Moral of the story, before we take hasty decisions in a fit of rage, we should get all facts and figures right. Principal of Pallavi Model School, Alwal Ms. Sunir Nagi
Events ATULYA BHARAT: INCREDIBLE INDIA – PROJECT DISPLAY A unique land of vibrant colors, breathtaking landscapes, and rich history, India is unlike any other. From the writhing streets of busy cities to the idyllic shores of the Islands, this remarkable country offers a diverse feast for the senses. Pallavi model school Alwal, organized a Balmela project display; a phenomenal mega event on 22nd October 2022 with the theme Atulya Bharat: Incredible India. It's the culture of Pallavi Model school to host Bal Mela before the Diwali holidays and provides a great learning opportunity for the students. Since experiential learning is inculcated in NEP 2020, the students gained experience as conductors working in the stalls. They gained observer experience, i.e., what did not go well in the event, and what went well. The day was filled with exuberance. A buffet of items was organized, such as the project display on art, music, food, costumes, culture, epics, monuments, script, language, and literature of India in the classrooms. Every display had a pure touch of India, and the student speakers spoke facts about the pride of being an Indian. The parent community lent their terrific camaraderie for the arrangement. Lined up were the Art and Craft Exhibition, food counters for some lip-smacking snacks, Games corner, floral decoration, Diya competitions for the parents, Shop till u drop stalls, and finally the Talent show. The post-pandemic thriving crowd on the school premises was cheerful and optimistic. The day commenced with cultural programs and a message by the Principal Ms. Sunir Nagi, \"Let us light the homes of the deprived, share happiness with others, and go for an eco-friendly Diwali.\" The program was flamboyant with depictions from Valmiki's epic. Valmiki is celebrated as the harbinger-poet in Sanskrit literature. The epic Ramayana was enacted with pure devotion. The journey of Karn was beautifully depicted too. One of the events, which caught the audience's attention was the portrayal of the qualities of lord Hanuman –his strength, courage, wisdom, celibacy, devotion to Lord Rama and the many names by which he is known were shown in the dance. The day came to pass with the prize distribution of parents in talent shows and wishing everyone with the charm of Diwali. Diana Cyrus and Vijaya Darshini
Pre-Primary Diwali Mela We organized Diwali Mela with the concept of Atulya Bharat “Incredible India”. Pre-Primary kids showcased different cuisines of different states. The distinctive factor of the Mela was the display of famous food from various states. Enthusiastic parents along with kids were dressed up according to their State, arranged the table with famous dishes belonging to that particular state, and decorated the corner with colorful charts, with different objects representing them. Our Young Ones were dressed up as different states of India and welcomed our Principal Ms. Sunir Nagi by wishing in their respective languages. They also arranged food stalls of Diwali special sweets and eatables. Parents even participated in Diya making competitions and Floral Rangoli. Last but not the least, memorable moments were caught by everyone at the eye-catching selfie corner. B.Sandhya Pre-Primary Teacher
BALMELA-AN INCREDIBLE INDIA Lights on Incredible India – A Knowledge Fest Deepavali's celebrated all over the world as a festival of lights -The metaphorical triumph of the light of knowledge over the darkness of ignorance. This year’s festival became a kaleidoscope of knowledge through the annual Bal Mela to celebrate the rich heritage of Incredible India (Atulya Bharat). The association of the Mela with the Deepavali festival embodies the true spirit of bringing to light the great heritage and cultural diversity of our country. Our Class V Students displayed models, charts, and pictures of Char Dham (the four holy centers) of Bharat –namely Rameswaram in the South, Puri in the East, Badrinath in the North, and Dwaraka in the West. They highlighted the significance and traditional importance of the Char Dham to the visitors. Similar presentations were made on famous mosques of India and the history associated with them. Students showed great understanding and a sense of history while making the presentations and visitors were pleasantly surprised by the enthusiasm of the students in sharing their views. There were dance and music performance to give a fitting finale to the Bal Mela. The visitors and the students set a memorable tone to the ensuing Deepavali festival.

Rashtriya Ekta Divas United we stand divided we fall. To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, to resonate the inherent strength and resilience of our people that withstood threats to the security, unity, and integrity of the country, National Unity Day was observed on 31st October in PMS-Alwal in memory of the first deputy Prime Minister of India-Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Patron Leader of India’s civil services and the Iron man of India. He led the task of forging a united India successfully integrating into the newly independent nation of those British colonial provinces that formed the dominion of India. Marking the event as a prestigious moment for India, we celebrated the day with a series of programs that involved and evoked patriotism fervor among the students and staff. To mark the occasion in a befitting manner with great enthusiasm - a unity run was organized by the NCC cadets of the school holding the banner and the National Flag. The whole school joined the chorus singing 'Sare Jahan Se Acha' led by the school choir. A fusion dance performance between Kuchipudi and Bharatnatyam and the girls clad in different state ethnic wear presented the culture through a ramp walk and the boys enthralled the audience with a foot-tapping patriotic dance. A speech on Iron Man's contribution to uniting India was delivered and the school administered the Rashtriya Ekta Divas pledge. The Principal Ms. Sunir Nagi addressed the students by giving insight into the day and why Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was chosen as a symbolism of unity. Ms. Nagi briefed the students about the indomitable man who integrated 562 princely states with the union of India and prevented the balkanization of the newly independent country. The special assembly on Rastriya Ekta Divas came to an end with the national anthem.

ARTICLE ON “SCHOOL LIFE” ASSEMBLY Niharika, VII-E School life is the first stepping stone in our lives. It is the best time of our lives as we make new friends, learn new things, and build a career. It is the place where we get our first learning, friends, teachers, homework, punishment, and much more things that make the best part of our life. The exceptional assembly was conducted on 28ᵗʰ of October 2022 by grade 8 students of our school. Through this assembly, the students were made to understand the essence of school life. Shlok and Rishika, the anchors gave a brief description of school life, followed by the thought of the day by Nihal. I recited a magnificent poem, which was followed by a skit interpreting the students not taking part in any kind of activities and concentrating only on their studies. The skit came to an end with a dance performance. The assembly ended with the wonderful memory of school life shared by our principal Ms. Sunir Nagi. The students understood the indispensable value of school life by the end of the assembly. Campaign on Water Management (Swatchta Pakwada) A water conservation campaign was held by the students and Teachers of Class V Pallavi Model School, Alwal. The campaign commenced with beautiful charts and play cards showing the importance of water. Our activities pollute the water and adversely affect our daily lives due to its misuse. They raised the issue of water sensitivity. The need for conservation was brought forward. Children of grade V enthusiastically shared their views on how to conserve and save water for the present and future generations. The campaign was closed with slogans like \"SAVE WATER SAVE LIFE\"
World Photography Day Photography is a way of feeling, touching, and loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything. Grade 4 has conducted the assembly on capturing moments on World Photography Day. It was an incredible assembly that started with praying to eternity followed by the pledge. Lovely students conveyed beautiful messages about photography. The stage was full of capturing moments when children danced beautifully and presented a skit on photography. It was more spectacular than expected. The principal Ms. Sunir Nagi and the HM, Ms. Shirin Madhuri, made the day more memorable with clicks of students along with their principal in the school. After the assembly it must be said that “In photography there is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality”.
Halloween Celebrations P. Sowjanya Reddy Pre-Primary Teacher Halloween is a holiday when we can all indulge in the darker, creepier side of life and eat loads of candy. It’s a lot of fun, a little spooky, and anything but serious. Historically, however, the holiday was religious in nature and extremely significant to the culture of the people who celebrated it. In America, Halloween is always celebrated on October 31. Countries that celebrate Halloween as we do, like Canada, share the same day. However, not everyone is as Halloween obsessed as Americans. The Gaelic festival of Samhain was traditionally held on November 1, to mark the official end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. The celebrations always began the evening before, on October 31, about halfway between the autumn equinox and winter solstice. How is Halloween celebrated these days? Costumes, parties, toys, and candy are some of the most popular ways, but there are lots of fun Halloween traditions. Here are some of our favorites: Fake human bones! They are often displayed in silly ways on Halloween, but they’re a remnant of the ancients’ very serious fixation on the dead returning on October 31—whether in spirit or with whatever is left of their mortal bodies. Halloween is an opportunity for the creative ones where witches go waltzing. We at Pallavi followed the concept \"Bachon ki shaitani ko bahar aane do\". Our blooming buds dressed up like monsters, witches, spiders, etc., and walked on the ramp on the stage. The program started by wishing HAPPY HALLOWEEN by our beloved principal Ms. Sunir Nagi along with vice principal Ms. Vidyadhari and our pre-primary in charge Ms. Maninder Kaur. Our teachers also dressed up in scary characters and done a ramp walk. Children enjoyed a lot and had fun time with their peer group and teachers. Maninder Ma’am enlightened kids with excellent message about Halloween. Teachers made Halloween selfie corner for our tiny tots. Children made model of ghost using pencils as take away for the day.

Outdoor Activity T. S. Prajitha, Science Teacher Outdoor activity is an important part of students' health and success, both physically and mentally. It’s natural for children to want to move their muscles outside. Not only will it help children explore their imagination, and creativity, and exert themselves physically, but it’s just a lot of fun! Grade 8 students had experiential learning on the topic forces. Students learned about what is force, and how to define force in physics terminology. Also, they have drawn examples from sports by playing different sports like throw ball, basketball, hand ball and shuttle. From sports activity they comprehend that force is push or pull acting on an object. Force can change speed of an object, make a stationary object move, moving object to rest, force can change direction of an object.
Newspaper Reading Reading newspapers on a daily basis is really important for students. This provides them with high general knowledge. The critical understanding of students is also enhanced by the habit of newspaper reading. It increases the stock of words in them. As students are the future of a country, they should be aware of the incidents going on in-country. Students are kept updated with the latest news by the newspaper. It also improves vocabulary in students.

TALENT HUNT Agastya Grade VIII-A In simple words,” Talent Hunt “is a fun way through which the students can express their creativity. Students of Grade 8 approached this activity with great enthusiasm. Students demonstrated their unique talents making the atmosphere of the class mesmerizing. Often students find it hard to carry on with their academics. But thanks to the teachers, the students were able to express their talent whether it be singing, dancing, performing skits etc. I personally think the activities like ‘Talent Hunt’ should be included in the school curriculum in order to maintain the creative thinking of students.
English Activity: Families that eat together are less disturbed Ms. Gagan Preet Kaur, English Teacher Grade VIII No amount of money or success can take the place of time spent with your family. There was a beautiful article in NIE about how important it is to sit with your family and eat together. Ms. Gagan Preet Kaur the teacher of grade 8 conducted a life skill session in the class. Students were asked about the quality time they spend with their family. Family time creates loyalty to each other and a feeling of support. Nature as a classroom: A space where teachers and students observe, learn, and wonder together Students of class 8 as part of their learning engagement regarding the conservation of plants and animals…. went for a nature walk on the Pallavi School campus. Students were so enthralled to see the beautiful ecosystem of the school. Students were given the task to identify biotic and abiotic components of the ecosystem. How do they interact with each other? Nature walking is learning from observations of nearby nature. The nature walk is a wonderful way to familiarize oneself with a school campus. Documenting observations by taking photographs and nature journaling will encourage curiosity and connection in learners. One way to encourage wonder and cultivate a culture of inquisitiveness in students is to practice an inquiry-based teaching and learning approach. Making space for student questions not only increases their sense of ownership over their learning, but is also likely to encourage them to be more curious, engaged, and creative. Students observed various biotic components different types of plants and trees and different types of birds, insects, squirrels, reptiles, and dragonflies. They listed out abiotic components of the ecosystem like stones, rocks, sand… A flowering or fruiting tree abuzz with activity during a nature walk can create excitement and lead to rich discussions in one such instance, a cryptically colored dragonfly flew in and settled on the grasses of the garden. Some students observed and drew the dragonfly, some had interesting questions about dragonflies. There was so much that the students already knew and had observed. Rich discussions and several anecdotes followed — dragonflies in their hometowns and villages, swarms during the monsoons, and around rain puddles. A brief encounter with a dragonfly in the school ecosystem had so much to offer — a chance to listen to and value past experiences and observations, while simultaneously creating opportunities for new learning. We at PMS ALWAL believe that learning about and forging connections with nature(mammals, birds, invertebrates, trees, shrubs, rocks, streams, puddles) and all the rest of the wonderfully diverse forms of life that the earth is home to, is very essential for young students to develop empathy and deep love for the nature and its various inhabitants, which will motivate them to treasure and take action on behalf of it. - Anita Nair, Teacher
Campaign for an Eco-friendly Diwali Diwali, which is environmentally friendly, helps to decrease noise and pollution. By choosing eco- friendly options, you can quickly minimize your energy use.
