FROM THE EDITOR……. If your world looks gloomy And you are feeling grin and glum Make a rainbow for yourself, Don’t wait for one to come, Don’t sit watching at the window For the clouds to part There will soon be a rainbow if You start one in your heart. We are really proud and exuberant to acclaim that we are ready with all new hopes and hues to bring out the 'Aspiration 2020’ which will surely unfold the unravelled world of the most unforgettable and precious moments of the school. The enthusiastic write ups of our young writers are indubitably sufficient to hold the interest and administration of the readers. This 'Aspiration 2020’ is indeed a pious attempt to make our budding talents give shape to their creativity and learn the art of being aware because I believe that our success depends upon our power to perceive, the power to observe and the power to explore. We are sure that the positive attitude hardwork, sustained efforts and innovative ideas exhibited by our young buddies will surely stir the mind of the readers and take them to the surreal world of unalloyed joy and pleasure. Helen Keller rightly said that the world is moved along not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of tiny pushes of each honest worker.
The Herculean task of editing this school magazine would not have been possible without the sincere support of the members of the editorial board who sorted out the articles. We had got from our enthusiastic and inquisitive young writers, edited them and finally made a fair draft of them .I am thankful to my entire colleague who dipped their oars into the turbulent water of the journal and have sailed it to the shore of publication. It is a fine thing to have ability but the ability to discover ability in others is the true test. I am really thankful to our respected principal ma’am for entrusting me with the responsibility of being a part of the editorial board. I take then this opportunity to thank all the dignitaries for sparing their valuable time to send their best wishes for magazine in the form of 'Message'. I heartily wish all the readers my best wishes and hopes this 'Aspiration 2020’ will enjoy your critical acclaim and prove itself to play a vital role in the all round development of the children. FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK I am very happy to note that Srikrishna Public school (SKPS), Bagbera, an unit of Dr. Srikrishna Sinha Sansthan, is going to publish School E-Magazine “Aspiration 2020” in this Covid pandemic period. Since the COVID -19 pandemic has disrupted the normal lifestyle of people across the globe, the virtual world has come to the rescue. This pandemic has made all the educational schools across the world to adopt teaching online.Consequently, catering to the needs of all stages of education from pre- primary to university level, online education has emerged as an alternative to ordinary face to face classes. Courses are conducted online, examinations are conducted online, and assignments are submitted through email. Accordingly, a New Normal is being defined in which various stakeholders such as government and private organizations are trying their best to assist each other by sprucing up their existing online platforms, apps and providing training to teachers to use these apps and platforms to the optimum level. The strength lies in the teacher and school nurture. Teacher need to change their mundane teaching methods and adapt to evolving technology-centered teaching. The teacher should establish themselves as “competent” individuals who can deliver what the students expect. Therefore, Post Covid-19 is an opportunity to transform the higher education system. Schools/Institutes/Universities should utilize this opportunity to transform itself.
Curriculum design, collaborations, skill development and teacher involvement - all should focus on internationalizing higher education. Srikrishna Public School (SKPS), a 20-year young educational institution of Jamshedpur, has intelligently made a bump-less transfer from a typical class-room teaching to an online virtual teaching using innovative methods while preparing e- learning materials for the students to make it interesting as well. Both teachers and students have quickly adapted to the new way of teaching and learning. I congratulate all the ICSC/ISC toppers of various disciplines and wish passing out students all the best for pursuing their higher education as well as successes in their future endeavors. I convey my good wishes to all the teachers and congratulate teachers, staff& students of SKPS for bringing out this informative E-magazine, which I am sure, will provide both qualitative and quantitative readings to the readers. FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK- BAGBERA Oscar Wilde, a famous poet once said, “Schools should be the most beautiful place in every town and village-so beautiful that the punishment for undutiful children should be barred from going to school the following day”. Dear student’s school is that sacred temple of knowledge where you groom yourself and prepare to face challenges of life. Yours is the task of nation- building. It is a great responsibility on your shoulder. You have to make the most of your student’s life .These are your foundation years for a better tomorrow. Education is a better preparation for life. In the educational scene content and pedagogy should be set in such a way that worth is life enhanced in every individual. Once your foundation is laid, your goal will be achieved, millions of race penetrates to gloom and lighten up the dark of obscure corner of your mind. Just as the seedlings sprouts new leaves and shoot upward boldly, so should you become steady, strong and independent .All gear up to face the world, don’t fear tomorrow. Greet a new day with enthusiasm and positive attitude. Remember, always a journey of thousand miles begin with a single step. BEST WISHES – KRISHNA PANDEY
FROM THE VICE PRINCIPAL’S DESK- BISTUPUR ‘The only person who is educated is the one who has learned how to learn and change' This is what I have learned being in the profession of a Teacher for last 21 years. Teaching is the best way of learning. As a teacher I feel I am always a learner because every day I learn something new, which helps me to develop myself. I always considered my students as my teacher, while teaching them and answering their queries I always came across something new which helped me to explore the ocean of knowledge. So for me education is the process of facilitating learning or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs and habits. Education gives us knowledge of the world around us and changes into something better. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps us build opinions and have points of view on things in life. This COVID-19 has taught us how changes take place by changing the education into 'Digital learning'. My view on child learning ●Teacher should always be role model to the child, as they eagerly absorb everything that is going on around us. ●Diverse learning opportunities should be created for children. ●Focus should be on learning, not studying. ●Children' s playful exploration method should be encouraged. Thank you Sangeeta Singh
FROM THE INCHARGRE- BAGBERA Happy Children’s day! Being the teacher (In charge) of this school, I take the opportunity to thank you all. 14th November is celebrated as Children’s Day all over India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Every year this day, we celebrate with so much enthusiasm, but this year is little different from the others. This year we have seen the up and down of not the functions we celebrate but the internet. It is right now testing the perseverance of the teacher as well as the student at the same time. This day has been celebrated in all schools for their student to provide them with motivation and explaining the importance of them in the future. As the saying goes CHILDRENS are the future of the NATION.If a country seems to be developed and prosperous, the only reason is the young minds behind this aspect. You should always remember that we are here today because you all have motivated us to guide you all. Teachers become educators not only because of knowledge but you students play a very important role in our lives. You make us understand who we are and what we mean to you. We too commit mistakes at certain occasions but you all help us realize those mistakes. Sometimes we underestimate your strengths but you all proved us that every student present here has some or the other capabilities hidden inside you. This unprecedented time has raised so much of issues in this give and take process of the teaching. It has shown us to the length this relationship can go to survive. This year is much different from normal and I am happy that we are surviving and our relationship is thriving. Stay Safe and Stay Healthy. Thank you! MRS. SAROJ SINGH

Believe in yourself A gentleman was walking through an elephant camp, and he spotted that the elephants weren’t being kept in cages or held by the use of chains. All that was holding them back from escaping the camp, was a small piece of rope tied to one of their legs. As the man gazed upon the elephants, he was completely confused as to why the elephants didn’t just use their strength to break the rope and escape the camp. They could easily have done so, but instead, they didn’t try to at all. Curious and wanting to know the answer, he asked a trainer nearby why the elephants were just standing there and never tried to escape. The trainer replied; “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.” The only reason that the elephants weren’t breaking free and escaping from the camp was that over time they adopted the belief that it just wasn’t possible. Moral of the story: No matter how much the world tries to hold you back, always continue with the belief that what you want to achieve is Possible BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. WE ARE ONE We Are One is more than just our overarching value – it’s the backbone of our very philosophy. It captures our desire to foster an engaging and inclusive workplace; and our recognition that we are the sum of our collective talent. We are truly global, combining different cultural backgrounds. We believe that our diversity and different perspectives help us reach for new solutions and innovations. The complexity of our work also means that we rely on team work, there are no ‘one- person’ jobs, but collaborative efforts. This value of unitedness helps create an environment where everyone feels connected, enabling a collective intelligence. Being a master of one or a jack-of-all-trades in today’s world does not bring about success if you are unable to work as part of a team. The importance of teamwork cannot be stressed enough! The Donkey in Lion's skin Once upon a time a donkey found Lion's skin. He dressed himself is that skin. Wherever he went the other animals and people feared by him. Everyone thought that he was a real Lion. Soon he started to think of himself as a Lion. One day he heared some donkeys braying in the village. He wanted to show them that he can sing even louder so he started braying and the villagers heard him. They ran after him with sticks and beat him to death. Thus the poor donkey paid the price for his foolishness. Moral- Be yourself, don't try to copy others. Name - Swetabh Singh class -1 ‘A’

ALL ABOUT STUDENT’S LIFE “Learn as much as you can while you are young, since life becomes too busy later.” Student life is a beautiful, yet hectic part of life. People go through all kinds of struggles during this time. As a student the most important thing to remember is that laziness is your worst enemy and hard Work is your best friend. Study like there’s no tomorrow because if you keep putting off your studies for tomorrow, you’ll probably be too late. Time can be your best friend and your worst enemy depending on whether you use it or waste it. Do not focus on what you cannot do; take a look at what you are capable of. You will feel confident and learn new things along your way. Always look for how much progress can be made rather than perfection. Life will be a lot easier. Do not give up no matter what, always try just one more time, and eventually you will be successful. -Sukhneet Kaur Teacher
MEMORIES Days I have lost, but not the memories; Times they have fled, but not their glories; Memories I hope I could cherish again, Some were special, some sentimental, But now nothing could be regained! Perhaps I shall forget those stories, that scenario But the subdued voices will never cease to echo; Want to listen to those forgotten lays, Want to relive those olden days: When I got lots of love from my parents, But their thrashings were like shocks of current! Take away my days of youth, But return me my childhood: Sailing paper boats in the rain-shower, Or bent on some mischief under summer’s shady bower, Or could play all day long in the wild! Give my message to each and every child: Savor these moments, these days, these hours, Taste the dish called life before it turns sour. - Roshni Kumari Teacher
THE KINGFISHER AND THE CRANE Once upon a time, there lived a kingfisher and a crane. As both were dependent on the fishes of a nearby pond for their livelihoods, a fight broke out between them. “I’ve spotted this pond before you”, said the kingfisher, “so you better fly away”. This infuriated the crane, but he controlled his anger. “All right!”,he said, “but there is no point in fighting: this world runs on sharing and helping. To hunt alone is really dangerous as the owner of the pond sometimes guard it; think how the stones hurled from his catapult would hurt our fragile bodies! I really hate to come down and hunt as it wets my feet, and feathers, and makes flying difficult for me;you,on the other hand, is an excellent hunter, and need not step into the water to catch fishes. Let’s make a pact: I would patrol from above;you,in the meantime would catch the fishes. This way there would be trust between us, and both would get equal shares.” “All right!”, agreed the kingfisher; but the crane had something else in his mind. As agreed, they both started hunting together; but soon, after a couple of days, the crane started visiting the pond alone at the break of dawn. He would fill his belly, and then fly away, and would return with the kingfisher again. One day the crane said to the kingfisher,” My dear friend, flying so high near the sun for long hours has made me weak. I can barely lift my feathers. Would you please get the job done for us till I recover completely?” The kingfisher replied in positive and, went to hunt alone. The crane noticed that the amount of fishes the kingfisher brought everyday was decreasing, but he kept quiet and waited for the right moment. One day the kingfisher returned without any catch.“My friend”, he said, “the pond has run out of fishes!” “What!”, exclaimed the crane. “This can’t be true. Knowing that I can’t fly at the moment, you have eaten up all the e fishes yourself, and have denied me of food.” The kingfisher tried a lot to reason out with the crane, but not listening to any of his arguments was a part of his plan; and the matter was presented before the Eagle, the king of birds. “This is a case of complete betrayal!”, yelled the king of birds. The cunning kingfisher has not only violated the pact, but also tried to starve the poor, and tired, crane to death. Take him away from my sight, and execute him immediately. Soon, when the owner released new school of fishes again, the crane knew that this time he has to share them with nobody. How lockdown affected students’ life Whether you are a school going kid or a student pursuing his master’s both of you are thinking when you will be back to your normal routine. The effect of this lockdown is worst for the mental health and happiness of a student, he/she is unable to meet his/her friends and enjoy what they used to do in pre – COVID days. The enormous potential that they used in their daily life is now blocked, we are continuing the study with the help of different digital learning platforms but are we actually satisfying their needs. Few of the advantages and disadvantages during the COVID – 19 pandemic - Advantages: There are no significant advantages because there is a huge lose in jobs lives and the economy of the country but speaking about the children there are some advantages. School and colleges holidays students can use their quality time in studying and the other activities in which they are interested. They can spend time in the house by not going out and enjoy, watch movies and do some craft work. Disadvantages: Main disadvantages for students are online classes. Online classes, the adoption rate is around 50 – 60% whereas in the classroom the adoption was around 80 –90%. Online classes affect the eyes of the students due to long hours in front of the blue screen. Lots of poor children do not have access to laptops and computers; all these students are naive, think there should not be this disparate education. -Chhaya Kumari Mahato Teacher
