Reflection When it comes to things like design, i think that i may believe in form more than i believe in fucntion. in the sense that, that is how i view things. I like emotional aspects in products and how it makes me feel slightly more than how it can help me. Beacuse i see it as, as long as it makes me feel positive and happy, i think it achived its function? maybe thats not a good mindset if id were to persue a design job in the future. But with that being said, i think when i actually do my work, it may come off as fuction weighs more than form. I tend to limit myself as ironic as it is when it comes to form so my work may come off as boring. and from here on. i think i would try my best to strike a balance. Reflection+Draft one What i thought of when doing this is “It has to be Medival and Romantic” in which caused me to choose this colour scheme, nrown and red. But the red was orifinallu pink but i decided that red suit romance better. what the first page was about is that i wanted to show the flow of time, implying that its timeless from trying to created letters falling down like the sand from the hourglass con- Fun sulta- factPink and blue gives tionafter consultation, i realised that traditionalism purple and these 3 is not what im going for [beacuse red is the colours represent the traditional colour of love] Whereas it needs Bisexual flag in the to be funky and new. Granted that the lgbt lgbt community community is not yet widely accepted [in whihc they should to be honest]. with that i scraped the tradional and old red back to the pinks and blues from before. Not only that but that what i have here is messy, and all over the place. Not organised with way too many fonts. the distortion of the text too was a little weird and “cringy” so to speak. Therefore i shall scrap it and redo! :D
After the consulation, i realised what i needed to do. instead of just introducing the place to take pictures, i should implement words that reminds people of photography like Landmarks, People, Colours and from there, derive words like Vivid, Emotional, Shapes and Archs. consultation these are a few of the designs i have for the front page as i have ompletely forgotten to create a masthead for the brochure. but these seem a little too little play on typogrophy so i went to research more and find more insparations to go from there.
https://www.behance.net/gallery/105061893/brochure-rie-Zwar https://www.pinterest.com/pin/478507529157455889/ https://www.pinterest.com/pin/731764639449005014/ https://www.pinterest.com/pin/687924911811292942/ These are a few of the insparation i have for my brochure. i thought it would be nice to incoporate a bit of swiss and bauhaus in my design. This may come off as playful rather than romantic so maybe what i really wanted to potray was the happiness.
There came this, inspired by the pictures from before, i decided to go for a more plaful style instead of medieval romantic. as i would like to potray the happiness and joy when taking pictures of your significant other for marriage and not only is their live full of love and romance, but also joy and happiness.
with that, birthed the design of the brochure. Hopefully it gives thirll, excitemet and happiness when reading this brochure and makes the audience want to visit luxembourg because i myself would really like to one day. I wanted the flow of the read to arch in the middle as thats where the excitement lies. and slowly go down to a calm at the end. Giving off the satisfaction that “gosh, that was nice, now for a cup of tea” or something like that WEEK I realised that the brand archetype that i was going for is the Explorer with a tinge of the Jester. Hopefully a little bit of the Creator too! Why i say so is mainly due to the Colour scheme that may reflect the Explorer in the sense that it isnt the traditional Red. wheres the Jester can be shown through the cover page, playful and fun. and finally, Creater because of the content and topic, talking about the sense of belonging of a group of people not yet widely accepted in today’s society.
