Our Mission To coordinate resources to empower and inspire people to reach their full potential. Service Area Highland Rim Economic Corporation provides services and connects resources in Dickson, Houston, Humphreys, and Stewart Counties, in the northwestern part of Middle Tennessee. 2

Education SCHOOL READINESS GOALS Goal 1: Approaches to Learning Highland Rim Head Start will ensure that all children will follow classroom rules and routines with increasing independence. Goal 2: Social and Emotional Development Goal 3: Highland Rim Head Start will ensure that all children recognize self as a unique individual Goal 4: having own abilities, characteristics, emotions, and interests. Language and Communication Highland Rim Head Start will ensure that all children understand and respond to increasingly complex communication and language from others. Literacy Highland Rim Head Start will ensure that all children demonstrate awareness that spoken language is composed of small segments of sound. Goal 5: Cognition Goal 6: Highland Rim Head Start will ensure that all children understand the relationship between Goal 7: numbers and quantities. Goal 8: Goal 9: Mathematics Highland Rim Head Start will ensure that all children identify, describe, compare, and compose shapes. Scientific Reasoning Highland Rim Head Start will ensure that all children ask questions, gather information, and make predictions. Perceptual Motor and Physical Development Highland Rim Head Start will ensure that all children coordinate control and strength of large muscles. Education 2020-2021 Teaching Strategies Gold Outcomes Report *CLASS observations are conducted three times a year per classroom. 12 COVID-19 prevented all classrooms from having three observations completed, therefore impacting the total average scores.

CARES ACT Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act Highland Rim Head Start was provided $202,126 to address the economic fallout from COVID-19 through the CARES ACT. Finance 2020-2021 Budget Breakdown Federal Head Start Grant: $2,194,613 + USDA CACFP: $93,903 + In-Kind: $264,119 = Grand total: $2,552,635 HOW WAS IT SPENT? 14

Federal Audit: There was an independent audit conducted for the 2020-2021 program year. Those results revealed no finding. 15
