PET ŞİŞELER SAKSI OLUR MU? “Yeşil Geleceğe Aydın Adımlar” sloganımızla yaptığımız Eko-Okul çalışmalarımız kapsamında, atık malzemelerin geri kullanılması ile il- gili olarak farklı çalışmalar yapıyoruz, geleceğimiz için yeşil bir çevre oluşturmak, farkındalık kazanmak adına çalışmaları sürdürmekteyiz. Her birimizin evlerinde bulunan atık malzemeleri özellikle geri dö- nüşebilen malzemeleri biriktirdiğimiz Eko-Okul malzeme depomu- zu ailelerimizin de desteği ile oluşturduk ve her malzemenin tekrar kullanılabilmesi için işlevlerinin arttırılmasını sağlamak için farklı ça- lışmalar yapmaya karar verdik. Bu çalışmalardan biri de pet şişeleri nasıl farklı amaçlar ile kullanabilir, sorusu ile ortaya çıktı. Pet şişeler- den saksı yapma fikri ile başladık pet şişelerimizi boyama sonra ise onların içine toprak doldurduk. Ve bahçemizin demirlerine astık. Baharda içine ektiğimiz tohumların çiçeklere dönüşmesini izlemeyi sabırsızlıkla bekliyoruz. As part of our Eco-school studies, we are working on the recycling of waste materials with our slogan “enlightened Steps for a Green Future. ” We are working to create a green environment for our future and raise awareness. We set up our Eco-School store with the support of our families by collecting recyclable materials from our homes, and we decided to do some studies to enhance the features of waste materials in order to reuse them. One of these studies sprung out from the question, “In what other ways can plastic bottles be used?” We painted plastic bottles with the idea of making flowerpots and filled them with soil. We hung them up in the garden. We look forward to seeing the seeds turning into flowers in spring. 54

Sanal kurallara göre oynanan oyunlarda, defalarca ölünmek-te, sayısız kaza yapılabilmekte, şiddetli dövüşler ve darbeler olsa bile enbaşa dönülebilmektedir. Teknolojinin gelişmesiyle kendisini oyunun içindehisseden gençler, reel hayata uyumda zorlanmaktadır. These games arebanned by international laws for kids who are under a certain age because of their dangers. Even if suchdangerous games are found, they shouldn’t be tried. Otherwise, they may cause insomnia, hallucinations,abnormal perceptions and illogical fears. As we know, addiction is an unstoppable desire to repeat a certainactivity. Teenagers tend to believe that gaming is the best option for them. Teenagers who find themselves insuch a situation have to try to control themselves. They need to realize that they might forget to eat or sleepwhile gaming and try to respond to warnings calmly. The games played with real friends in the real world arethe most precious ones. Böylelikle çocuklarımızın hem hayallerini ve hangi mesleğiseçeceklerini öğrenmiş hem de üniversite adayı öğrencilerimizi hedefleri doğrultusunda yönlendirmiş olu-yoruz. Bu yönlendirmeler sonucunda öğrencilerimizin kendilerine uygun mesleği seçerek mutlu, faydalı ve‘AYDIN’ bireyler olacaklarından eminiz. SevgilerimizlewChoosing the right occupation is the most important step towards becoming an independent individual. Anindividual who makes the right choice when it comes to work will obviously improve the quality of his/her lifebecause the choice of occupation is a life choice.Choosing an occupation means finding the job that the individual thinks it is best for him/her. So if anindividual wants to choose the right occupation, he/she must decide:• At which subject area he/she is good,• In which atmosphere he/she wants to work,• The value he/she will give it. Shortly, the individual should know his/her preferences.As Nesibe Aydın family, we are aware of the importance of this choice. As the school counselling team, wehave prepared an occupation inventory to guide our students and we uploaded it on our educational portal.On the other hand, we planned our lessons accordingly in our primary and middle school to arouse interestsand awareness about occupations and we asked future preferences. Thus, we have learnt their dreams andpreferences and have had a chance to guide them accordingly. TEKNOLOJİTechnology TECHNOLOGY: WE ARE MEETING WITH COOLARAPP COLARAPP UYGULAMASIYLA TANIŞIYORUZ Eğitimde teknoloji kullanımına yönelik olarak ya- pılan çalışmalar, artırılmış gerçeklik (AR) uygu- lamalarının öğrencilerin etkinliklere katılım motivas- yonunu ve öğrenme deneyimlerini olumlu yönde desteklediğini ortaya koymuştur. Bizler de bu amaç- la, öğrencilerimizin günümüz dünyasının ayrılmaz bir parçası haline gelen teknolojiyle etkileşimini arttır- mak ve onlara farklı deneyimler sunmak adına yaptı- ğımız etkinliklerimize artırılmış gerçeklik (AR) uygula- malarından biri olan COlarapp’ı dâhil ettik. COlarapp uygulaması içeriğinde bizlere farklı boya- ma sayfaları sunmaktadır. Bu boyama sayfaları renklendirildikten sonra ise, tablet veya telefonumuza yükledi- ğimiz uygulama açılarak renklendirilen boyama sayfaları kameraya alınır. Kameraya alınan görüntüler yapılan özgün boyamanın renklerinde üç boyutlu olarak ortaya çıkar 4 yaş sınıfları olarak yaptığımız etkinliğimize COlarapp uygulamasında bulunan boyama içeriklerinden öğrencilerimizin istekleri doğrultusunda seçtikle- ri boyama sayfalarını renklendirerek başladık. Öğrencilerimiz boyama sayfalarını istedikleri renklerle boya- dıktan sonra, tabletimizden uygulamayı açarak her öğrencimizin tamamladığı boyama sayfasının 3 boyutlu görüntüsünü keyifle izledik. Gerçek dünya ile sanal dünya arasında bağlantı kurduğumuz bu etkinliğimizde artırılmış gerçeklikle tanışırken, mobil cihazlardaki eğlence anlayışımıza farklılık getirdik. The studies which have been carried out about using technology in education proved that augmented reality applications increased the range of students’ participations in lessons and their learning experiences. We, with this aim, added Colarapp, which is one of the augmented reality applications, in our lessons to increase the interaction between our students and technology, the irreplaceable part of life. Coolarapp application provides us with different types of colouring pages. After we finish colouring the pages, with the help of the application, we upload the picture to our camera. The images can be seen in 3d through this application. As 4 year old classes, We started our activity colouring the papers that the students chose themselves. After they coloured it as they wanted, we uploaded the picture on the application and watched it with a great joy. With this activity we tie up the real world to the virtual world and look at our understanding of mobile devices from a different aspect. 66

One of theinteresting sides of this application is the chance of competing with the names that we choose forourselves. It’s also very exciting to answer all the questions in a limited time.To prepare and apply Kahoot is quite easy. As our population extends to such numbers, we have to take instant action to support food to those newmembers of our planet.Ever since the human race was created, the very first thing it searched for was food and water, in order to support itselfenergy for life. As people began adapting themselves to their environment, the relationship between the two began tochange. Their desire for nutritious food increased day by day that they learnt to take control of their environment. Theyfirst hunted wild animals and gathered vegetables and fruits. However, as their resources diminished, they acknowledgedthat some new ways had to be developed to support the hungry-growing population. Men began settling on fertileland, because they understood that they had to plant and cultivate crops in order to sustain their population. This wasactually men’s turning point. From there on, they began to improve its techniques for feeding their population. With theimprovements in technology over hundreds of years, we have leapt a huge milestone in food production. Technology hascome to a point that can help us feed every single member of our population. At this point one may ask himself/herselfthe following question: “Why do we still have people who suffer from hunger and malnutrition in regards to our superficialpotential for producing food for everyone on the planet?” Today, some 850 million people on our planet do not haveenough food to live a healthy life. Have we been able to successfully apply all these techniques, which we have learnt andhave developed ever since the human race was created, looking at the situation that we encounter today? The expo that will take place in Milan, Italy, Expo Milan 2015, can be men’s new turning point. It will be the biggest expo organized on food. It will change our understanding on food. It will help us understand how we can make our planet more sustainable. Many people, organizations and business partners around the world will be sharing their ideas, techniques and culture in different pavilions. In each pavilion, a nation’s culture, history, and their relationship with food will be represented through a six month period. There will be eventhematic areas, such as Pavilion Zero, where the visitors can explore how men have produced, the transformation oflandscape and the culture of food consumption. The expo’s centre theme is sustainability, which is a universal value thatconcerns us all. This brings us to the expo’s main motto: Feeding the World, Energy for the Planet.So how can we actually learn from the Expo? It is very simple. Everyone who accesses the Expo gets the chance toparticipate in the seminars and meetings at different pavilions of different countries or themes. These are unique placeswhere countries demonstrate how they have been fighting against hunger and poverty. On June 4 Brazil explained howfighting against hunger was possible with the Bolsa Familia program.The program combined the issue of access to credit with social policies. The application of the exponentialpower of 3D printing from manufacturing to food is digitizing the access to high quality for food that can benefit billionsof people. We know that 3D printers use ink (just like 2D printers) and plastic in order to create objects with volume.However, instead of using plastic and ink to manufacture products, we can use this technology for producing food byusing nutritious materials rather than plastic and ink. This can help our population to feed itself with more nutritious foodswith less cost. An entire conference dedicated to this topic was held in the Netherlands.Another way to sustain food can be met through a technique called \"plant labs”. We human beings have witnessedmany natural disasters such as storms and earthquakes. Specially, when a disaster hits a metropolitan city, the demandfor food by survivors dramatically increases. In order to quicken the support for the food demand, many organizationssuch as “Plant Lab” in the Netherlands and Italian “Micro Experimental Growing” apply hydroponic growing techniquestogether with LED illumination, to produce large quantities of vegetables in an enclosed environment. With properlydosed micronutrients, and illuminated for the largest part of the day with a mixture of light frequencies optimized for theiroptimal development, the standardized environments do not need pesticides to maintain the healthy growth of the plants.Any variety of vegetables can be grown, according to the preferences of those consuming them, assuring local availability,and the greatest possible diversity of uses and nutritional value.With all of these ideas being shared with the people and all of these meetings being held at the Expo Milan 2015, we arelikely to experience many changes in our planet in terms of food production. People will hopefully become more cautiousabout the quality of the food we eat and how it is produced. Amacımız yazma merkezininöğrencileri etkili ve iyi yetişmiş yazarlar haline getirirken her türlü yazma becerilerini en iyi hale getirmektir.As a branch of our high school English department, we are pleased to offer a Writing Center to our students.As the first center of its kind in Ankara, we offer group writing activities for whole classes as well as individualwriting assistance when necessary or desired by our students. Our writing specialists help develop not onlycreative writing skills but also skills that will ultimately help our students achieve success in college andbeyond. Our aim is to use the Writing Center to help our students transition into efficient and well-developedwriters through activities designed to hone skills in every aspect of writing 72
