We handed out all the adages and their meanings pasted on colourful cardboards which have been enriching and giving a magic to our language for centuries. The only rule of meaning - adage matching was not to talk. By using ony gestures and mimics,the students who were trying to find their friend with the meaning of the adage discovered that they could find out what they were lookng for in silence. The ones who could match adage and the meaning later worked in pairs and improvised their adage with their partners without speaking. The other groups tried to guess which adage it was. Guesses were usually correct and our students got excited.Our students who had fun and also learnt during the activity concretized the adages in their mind. The 5th Grades who were pleased to learn tha adages which can be improvised and concretized promised not to forget the adages. My first book was published in 1984 when i was just 26 years old.
