TECHknowledge 2020-21School Year, Boerne ISD Digital Learning Support E-Learning
For the 2020-21 school year, the Digital Learning Team realigned its service and support structure to improve service to the E-Learning program. The details of the Digital Learning Support Model can be found here. In summary, the objective of the Digital Learning support model will: ● Ensure training delivery is consistent across all campuses. ● Provide teachers access to multiple Digital Learning Specialists during each campus visit to meet the needs of the teachers in both expertise and availability. ● Provide teachers the ability to schedule support, co-teaching opportunities and technology integration planning sessions with any of the Digital Learning Specialists in the district instead of access to only one DLS. ● Enable teachers to be exposed to a wider range of integration tools for various curriculum implementation on a more regular basis. ● Establish an environment to utilize the strengths and availability of each DLS to match the needs of campus teachers instead of an “on call” atmosphere. Support Model On-Campus Professional Learning/ Integration Visits Throughout the month, the entire DLS Team will visit campuses to provide your campus with training. These visits include: ● Full staff developments in mini sessions ● Small group staff developments ● Co-teaching Planning ● Co-present ● Device Management Support Differentiated Professional Learning Throughout the year, teachers have continual access to training and coaching through: ● On-demand lessons, curated on our resource website ● Asynchronous courses available online ● Synchronous course scheduled for face-to-face learning ● 1:1 Coaching sessions by appointment. Teachers request support. Implementing Technology Integration The Digital Learning Team demonstrates what is and is not technology integration by: ● Assisting with lesson design ● Co-teaching for observation and feedback ● Re-teaching device management ● Recruitment, training, and showcasing innovative teachers

Edcamps allow educators to collaboratively determine session topics the day of the event, and encourage educators to facilitate sessions by sharing experiences; conversations not planned presentations. Campus Technology Coaches Every campus has two teachers dedicated for immediate on-campus support. These Campus Technology Coaches (CTCs) offer 12 hours per campus of relevant professional learning and basic technology troubleshooting throughout the year. Each campus increased from 1 coach per campus to two, to assist with E-Learning teachers. The Digital Learning Team invests time in training and supporting the CTCs.
