กล้วยไม้สกุลหวาย

สกุลหวาย เป็นสกุลหนึ่งของพืชวงศ์กล้วยไม้ ตั้งขึ้นเมื่อ ค.ศ. 1779 โดย Peter Olof Swartz ชาวสวีเดน มาจากรากศัพท์ภาษากรีก คือ "dendron" และ "bios" หมายถึงสิ่งมีชีวิตที่อาศัยบนต้นไม้อื่น ทั่วโลกพบกล้วยไม้ที่อยู่ในสกุลนี้ถึง 900 ชนิด ในไทยพบ 184 ชนิด
