@TheRegentCollege VOLUME 3, ISSUE 3 MONDAY, 6TH APRIL, 2020 Dear Parents, End of Second Term Newsletter Greetings from the Regent College. We adjoin you to continue keeping to the safety regula- tions in this trying season to the end that with proper care, your health and that of our dear students is assured. We are immensely grateful to you for your support in ensuring that the mock examinations that we conducted online were concluded with a 100% success. We have therefore ended the second term without any loss of academic time, and our students have a two week break within which they are supposed to continue to study in preparation for the final certifi- cation assessment processes. To the above effect, if the present situation does not change, we will start the 3rd term with online classes where lectures, tests, assessments etc will be conducted steadily. This will keep our students at par with their peers all over the world who also will be taking classes online to ensure that come September, the necessary progression to university is achieved. AS & A2 Students’ Certification Cambridge International Examinations has given us the responsibility to generate the grades for AS & A2 certificates from evidence based previous work, as well as work that will be achieved in the next two months. Once again, we request for your support in providing relia- ble internet routers or Wi-Fi for their class attendance to enable the third term start prompt- ly on the 20th of April (except closure is called off). University Foundation Students (UFP) All work on given research projects are to be completed and submitted as stated in their giv- en guidelines. Online classes will also start on the 20th of April, 2020 (except closure is called off) which will lead to the major UFP certificate exams in June, 2020. This term’s importance for the conclusion of the sessions work for Foundation students cannot be over-emphasised. Respect Responsibility Resilience

Page 2 Page 2 University Placements All students should keep track of their admission statuses online and keep us informed. Stu- dents are to check their emails daily because university offers usually have response deadlines which if not attended to may elapse and be a cause for regrets and worries. Our Placement Of- ficer Ms Shade Aworinde can be reached on 08155450050 or [email protected] for placement issues. Results and Online Classes Time Table Our teachers are marking the mock examinations and preparing to generate mock results as expected. We will send you a mail on the 15th of April, 2020 with 1. Information for accessing the results, 2. Online Classes Time-Tables for all programs as well as 3. The bills for 3rd term. Third Term Online Class Attendance Whole School Training for online classes was carried out on Thursday 19th of March, 2020 be- fore the college shut down. Our students all know how to log into class. The classes will be in- teractive and student attendance will be taken for every class. Introduction of Canadian Pathway in Regent College - Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) We are pleased to inform you that in September 2020, we are starting a direct Canadian Path- way for students who would be progressing to Canada. It is a one session post-secondary school course that is equivalent to the International Baccalaureate Diploma and acceptable in place of A Levels. Our OSSD students will have Canadian students’ records generated with the Canadian education ministry right from our college, this gives them the same status as stu- dents who are on ground in Canadian colleges. It will save parents more than 60% of expen- sive Canadian College fees and the OSSD is also recognised by Ivy League universities all over the world. This gives the OSSD students a wider range of destination choices (See attached fly- er for other benefits) We thank you once again as we crave your indulgence to partner with us in counselling our students to recognise that this term is a crucial one for their future endeavours and give it all the determination and focus it deserves. Kind regards and stay safe, C.I. Ebiai Principal Respect Responsibility Resilience
