Dear Parents, It is midway through the session already, how time Principal's flies! Message Many of our foundation students already have a couple, or more university admissions which will be validated by St. Andrews College, Cambridge, UK our foundation partner, while that of Canada-bound students will be validated by Rosedale Academy our Canadian partner. FOUNDATION PROGRAM Foundation students have three more major exams. One at the end of term 2, and the 3rd term June exam which will be in two parts, written back-to-back. September Start Foundation Students started their research process on the 1st of February 2023 to end on the 28th of February 2023. Topics were given to them in two of the foundation subjects in their course areas to start, the rest will be given to them upon submitting the first set. They are expected to submit 3000 (Three thousand) word research papers on their given topics of each subject area. This accounts for 40% of their final grade and must be given all the seriousness it deserves. Every Humanities student has had to sign a form stating that they would not plagiarise any previous work in their topic area. Academic honesty is a very serious issue in our college and the countries our students are progressing to so we owe them the obligation of emphasizing this. Our science students are made to undertake practicals, which results are sent to our UK partner college for grading. The only written research subjects for science and engineering students are Mathematics/Engineering Mathematics as well as Computer Science majors which are expected to do coding. January Start students started their research process on the 20th of February 2023, to end on the 28th of March 2023. At the end of the research process, each student would be required to defend their submissions. Our foundation program is second to none in Nigeria because of its rigorous academic processes. It is an AQA (Assessment and Qualifications Alliance) accelerated ‘A’ level program. This also accounts for why Red Brick and Russell Group universities admit our foundation students readily.

A Level Program Our A level students have been registered for AS and A Level Cambridge exam which will begin on the 26th of April 2023 with AS Psychology and end on the 9th of June 2023 with A2 Economics MCQs. All necessary plans have been put in place to ensure that the students complete their syllabuses in full preparation for the exams. Please partner with us in encouraging them to aim for the very best. Hard work is the answer. OSSD (Canadian Program) This program has a 2-term structure like university programs. The first term rounded off with its end of term exams which started on Tuesday 24th January 2023 and ended on Friday 3rd of February 2023. The students went on a one-week holiday between Monday 6th February and Friday 10th February 2023. The second half of the OSSD program started on Monday 13th of February 2023 and serious academic activities are on-going. Boosters/Mentoring Our students who did not quite meet the mark last term are still attending booster classes and are being mentored, coached and encouraged by designated teachers. Each student is given a mentor to help support and encourage them to aim high at all times. Please continue to partner with us in encouraging the students to work hard for the very best of results for their good. Yours Truly, C.I. Ebiai Principal

ALUMNI CORNER Written by Esohe Ogedegbe My name is Esohe, I graduated from The Regent College in 2021 after completing my A-levels. Studying at the college before starting my degree helped me immensely when I started my pharmacy course. Pharmacy involves a lot of good knowledge in chemistry and human biology. Because I had already studied most of the topics during my A Levels at The Regent , it was easy for me to get ahead and learn better in classes. The skills I learnt at the college such as time management also helped me because being able to study independently is very important at the university. As part of our extra curricular activities at the Regent College, we had sessions on team work, integrity and giving back to the community. As someone studying a health and life science course, these are the building blocks of the degree. Being able to show integrity and work as part of a team to provide patient- centered care is key. I am currently in my 2nd year, and I look forward to continuing to use the knowledge and skills I acquired at the college to excel and finish my degree successfully.

Security Drill The College's security training for staff and students held on 17th February. During the training a number of safety alertness measures to be taken in times of security emergencies were taught. The session was both informative and eye opening as basic safety skills were unveiled before the staff and students. Meanwhile the main security drill took place on 20th February. Though frightening, it taught the college community one big lesson: to be security conscious and alert at all times, in case of any security emergencies.
