The design concept attracts younger audiences and provides a visitor experience closely aligned to visitor expectations today. The design also acknowledges that decedents of WW II have an expectation of a more traditional approach to interpreting the events of WW II. A balance of new and old is therefore incorporated into the design. The visitor experience begins with an overview of the 95th BG, two ight jackets, and various insignia. As the visitor moves through the exhibit, the environment becomes the inside of a B-17. Ambient sounds from the theater have B-17 motor noise, narration about B-17s, and provides subconscious reinforcement of being inside of a B-17. Typical props visitors can touch engages the visitor and completes the environment. Traditional text and graphic panels will present content; however, three videos will be the primary delivery mechanism of content for most visitors. More content and impact will be achieved with video than traditional interpretive panels. The costs associated with the concept design shown is not based on volume of content (including props). Adding content does not increase the cost we are quoting for the design and production. Maps will be introduced that orient visitors to locations of air bases and even bombing locations in Germany. This will provide more relevant data to the visitors and provide the opportunity for the visitor to envision the magnitude of events more easily. The theater program presents geographic locations, so presenting maps will connect the theater audio with the 95th BG content which expands the visitor experience. The exhibit design merges the theater program with the 95th BG content, without sacricing access, by placing the wood sculpture and B-17 interior panels inside the theater. By connecting the two independent exhibits, we have made the content and visitor experience more cohesive and minimized the “hallway” look of the space. Donor recognition panels will be placed on the two Theater Title Panels shown on pages 4B and 7B. Existing donor recognition and 95th BG Memorials Foundation recognition will be presented. This will upgrade the existing donor recognition. Several elements of the design are provided at no cost by World Pathways. This is due to the limited budgets all museums and supporters are experiencing, and our belief that quality of visitor experience should not be sacriced by limited budgets. Please see our quotation for additional information. Please continue for detailed images of the exhibits. 3B
