PAGE | 41N I G H TIt all begin in the dorms at the University of Colorado. You could almost say it wasfate for they all had an ear for music, more specifically, rock music. Members of thelive electronic band include Gray Smith (production), Ben Eberdt (guitar) and MikeKelly (drums). Savoy started off as a rock band but after seeing Daft Punk at the RedRocks, a widely-known amphitheater in Colorado, the trio realized they wanted tomake people dance and adding this genre would be a stellar way to do it. From thatpoint on, they incorporated techno into their rock band which made them inventorsof the genre, electronic rock music (ERM). Their musical influences come from bothrock and electronic legends such Led Zeppelin and Nero. What they bring to thetable is pure originality and that is exactly what this industry needs. In 2014, Savoy dropped an album, Self Predator, which was on the darker, technoside however their latest EP, 1000 Years, is focused on their instrumental abilitiesbringing the rock element through. Earlier this year, the band took flight on The1000 Lightyears Tour hitting a total of 16 cities. Savoy claimed this tour to be thebiggest and best light show yet. As expected, they did not disappoint their fans. They have the ability to bring a live electronic show to an audience who will experi-ence a past and present musical journey.

PAGE | 6 3N I G H TJustin Blau, aka 3lau, is one of biggest producers in the music industry. He has thehottest remixes of the hottest songs and you can see him on almost every majorfestival line-up. However, it was not always fame for 3lau. Born in New York andraised in Las Vegas, Blau went to college at Washington University with a full-schol-arship in finance. He received a huge opportunity that would have taken himstraight to Wall Street but he made the grueling decision to stay back and work ondance music. It was not long until Blau won a DJ contest that would take him tomultiple colleges around the country which was the major stepping stone in hiscareer. In three short years, Blau went from living in the dorms to becoming a worldclass artist working with only the best in the business. Blau is not just a DJ though. He is a musician, producer and philanthropist.Recently, he started a record label, Blume, which is the first non-profit dance musiclabel. Since the project began he has had an overwhelming response. In fourmonths his label was able to raise $83,000 through outlets such as itunes, spotify, etc. As stated on his website, “its mission is to unite dance music listenersworld-wide around philanthropic causes, raising thousands of dollars for communitybuilding charities.” With their being many con DJ’s in the industry that are only in itfor the money, you can surely count on 3lau as a compassionate, down-to-earthgentlemen who is in it for the music and what music does for others.
