JANUARY / FEBRARY / MARCH 2023 CORBAN ESTATE ARTS CENTRE

JANUARY / FEBRUARY / MARCH CEAC.ORG.NZ Front/Back/Inside Cover: Alongside late-2022 group exhibition Her heirlooms in my garden, our past curator Cora-Allan created the site-specific work Until we meet again (2022) which will sit outside the Homestead Galleries until late-March 2023. The piece is in remembrance of the artist’s Nana, Fotia Lafaiki, about whom Cora-Allan writes; She always smelt like flowers, her gardenia trees were huge and we would pick her up for church or events and she would have a bundle of flowers ready for us. Flowers were a gesture of love and a sentiment that she knew us and was happy to have strong relationships with her granddaughters. This space of waiting is a symbol of the friendship we shared, sitting and chatting about plants and their purposes it was all a part of her passing down knowledge and love to us. Cora-Allan.
