Mondrian meets Tanaka and Brody in 20th CenturyMash-Up - an exploration of form, design and print. Our dreamy Chagall-inspired workshop celebrates colour in fantastical illustrative imagery usingcollage, paint and caran d'ache, and My Story Rocks brings out the story-tellerin everyone - creating unique symbols to inspire personal narratives.Workshops for Senior Students - We arrange specialist workshops perfectfor Intermediate and High school students preparing for NCEA or wantingtechnical masterclasses in any media. Come with us on astory-telling, images drawn on cave walls or into journey into the deep sea where we will discoversand. Using river stones, paint, and markers, we bioluminescent deep sea dwellers. PACIFICA EXPERIENCE AGE RANGE: Y1 - 13 TIME: 2 hours long CAPACITY: Min. 23 - Max. 110 students FEE: $8.50 plus GST In this workshop students learn how Pacifica music, songs and movements convey stories and pass on lessons of cultural identity and Pacifica protocols. The workshop will be held at the Pacifica Arts Centre at Corban Estate and is run by the Mamas. Students will be introduced to musical instruments of the Pacific and learn drum patterns and dance movements. The Mamas will also teach students how to transform environmental or recycled resources into a fashionable lei. Photo credit Frank Sin FEATURE ARTIST WORKSHOPS: THERE'S a CREATURE in My JUNK PILE AGE RANGE: Y3 - Y8 TIME: 2 hours long CAPACITY: Min. 40 - Max. 60 students FEE: $11.50 plus GST 3D CONSTRUCTION WITH FOUND MATERIALS ARTIST ANDREW HALL Andrew will explain the reasons he uses found materials, and how he draws new life from discarded objects. A master of ingenuity and improvisation he is experienced at working with students to assemble 3-D sculptures from recycled, man- made ‘found’ materials. Andrew Hall is an artist who is passionate about sustainability and recycling Students will develop their imagination and inventive skills to create their very own creature

from an array of interesting materials and innovative joining techniques. FLOWERS from the MIDNIGHT GARDEN AGE RANGE: Y NE - Y13 TIME: 2 hours long CAPACITY: Min. 30 - Max. 60 students FEE: $14.50 plus GST WITH CERAMICIST KAIRAVA GULLATZ Inspired by the vibrant sculptural work of Yayoi Kusama students will design and shape their very own fantastical midnight flower sculpture. The ceramic forms will be glazed and fired making their sculptures fully functional for nighttime use with a mini LED or candle. Students will learn hand building techniques and will decorate their sculpture using several different clay colours. PLEASE NOTE Ceramics workshops can be framed to support any inquiry topic on request - shaped tiles, vessels or sculptural objects. . TOTES YOUR OWN AGE RANGE: Y NE - Y 13 TIME : 3 hours long (including a 20 min break for morning tea) CAPACITY: Min. 30 - Max. 50 students FEE: $14.50 plus GST (tote bag included) WITH FABRIC & TEXTILE ARTIST KATIE SMITH In this dynamic workshop with textile artist Katie Smith, students will explore the use of pattern form and repetition to print using textile inks on their very own tote. We believe in passing on knowledge and skills to anyone who is interested andthat means adults as well as children and young people.

The CEAC Education team have a diverse range of experience and skills in the arts, fromMaori visual arts to oil painting, printmaking, arts therapy, ceramics and mixed media. Thisensures our professional development programme is diverse and multi-dimensional andoffers teachers an opportunity to explore and experiment with techniques, materials and abroad range of outcomes.We are able to offer individual masterclasses, a series of sessions over the term, or oncea month all year long.Contact us - we can help design a programme around your team'sprofessional development needs. Her background is in Arts Therapy and educational management and shebrings an emphasis on community and collaboration to our educational environment.Megan Carter is the Arts Education Coordinator. She has been involved across the Artssector as a Producer and Coordinator, and is currently studying for her Masters in CreativeWriting through Massey University.Eilis Galuszewski is a skilled Educator and creative technician. She has a background inall forms of art making and specialises in wearable arts, theatre and costume design.Ashlee Tawhiti is our Arts Programme assistant.
