XECO Following years of intensive research and gradual development, alloys made from recycled aluminium have now become a fact: X-ECO. The name translates at once as an important quality of the product: equivalence. That is because the properties of our recycled aluminium alloys are equivalent to those of primary aluminium. Our planet is straining under the burden caused by CO2 emissions, the mass consumption of energy and raw materials, their wastage and the pollution they create. Gulf Extrusions wants to make its contribution towards calling a halt to this downward spiral. By remelting aluminium and turning it into new alloys, we are preventing further expansion of the waste mountain. Moreover, we are vastly reducing CO2 emissions. Aluminium Fire Rated Door Fire-X87 is a unique fire rated hinged aluminium system featuring a frame width of 87 mm. It is designed to resist fire for more than 90 minutes. The special design of Fire-X87 incudes fire rated accessories, fittings and custom design patented insulations. Certified fire rated glass panels are used to ensure the ultimate performance of this unique system. The Fire-X87 is tested according to European standards. The profiles of Fire-X87 are supplied exclusively in anodized finishes available with Gulf Extrusions anodized color charts. Frame Tubular multi-chamber with a width of 87 mm Sash Tubular multi-chamber with a width of 87 mm along with several hinged door applications (single leaf, double leaf, etc.) Assembly Both frame and sash are cut 450. Configuration Certified fire rated glass of 90 minutes. The glass panel is maintained by two special EPDM gaskets and held by custom designed brackets. Test The Fire-X 87 was tested on July 1, 2014 at Thomas Bell Wright – an authorized fire test facility . The door set has been evaluated in accordance with EN 1363-1:2012, EN 1363-2:1999 and EN 1634-1:2012. The requirements of the standard were satisfied for sustained flaming of 87 minutes. 11

Hand Rail Gulf Extrusions provides seamless fully fabricated handrail for various projects e.g. the prestigious Ramlet Al-Baida beach in Beirut, Lebanon. The handrail was specially extruded and anodized with 25 micron to prevent from corrosion. The design of the handrail is unique and demands a special curve from top to bottom. Gulf Extrusions successfully achieved the curved design by water jet cutting and then completed full fabrication for the customer. It is noteworthy to mention that the handrail extends from Rouche to Ramlet al Baida for more than 1 KM overlooking the famous Rouche Sea Rock. The handrails provided by Gulf Extrusions stay as a true landmark in the coastlines of Beirut. 12

Twisted Profile A. Technical Challenge: • Design, Extrusion and Fabrication of Twisted profile • Required twisting of 430mm wide and 6m long Aluminum profile from 00 to 600 • After several failed trials outside, the project team reached out to the pioneers in Aluminum extrusion with the challenge • Gulf extrusion designed the profile and extruded it. Gulf Extrusions also developed and built the machines to twist the profile • The Twisted profile from Gulf extrusion has been selected as the most innovative Aluminum Product by the most prestigious Aluminum event, Aluminum 2014, Dusseldorf 13

C. Solution & Planning - Making of the twisted profile: Planning: Internally, Gulf Extrusions studied the project specifications and came with a special extrusion design for the project. Then the right alloy required for twisting was chosen. The twisting process: The three stages: Stage 1: We studied the stress distribution in the profile and designed a special machine with pneumatic cylinders. The machine had three clamps which held the profile. Design challenge was to create supports on the panel to distribute the stress created by the twisting load; Had to secure the panel and the connecting grooves from any strain– Solved by incorporating ribs designed to crack when strained and thus protect the profile. Stage 2: We found that the twist was not consistent and because of the spring effect of the profile, the aluminium fought its way back to its initial position. The solution was to redesign the machine with hydraulic cylinders, reduce the number of clamps to two and we had to trick the metal by twisting it in stages. We had to twist in stages of 300, then 250 twice and we took it back to a full 00. By this we were able to achieve the 600 twist. Stage 3: After successfully twisting the profile, we had the last challenge which was to release the profile from the clamps. So, we redesigned the clamps to be ‘Y’ shaped and we were able to release the twisted profile smoothly. The clients and the stakeholders were extremely delighted to see the final outcome and this project is yet another testimonial which reaffirms the leadership and know-how of Gulf Extrusions in the field of Aluminium Extrusions. 14
