Director of Pre-contract services Edward O’Neill With over 20 years of commercial experience gained within Rail, Aviation, Civils, Residential, Entertainment and Hotel industries (public and private sector) with majority being from a main - and subcontractor position. Ed leads a team of Pre-construction specialists and carry's out tenders for projects worth between £1m to £50m. “The pre-construction process is vital to the success of any project. Estimating How we work We want to give you the best possible support for your projects, so we don’t rely on standard pricing structure and formulas from pricing manuals. We talk to you about your business suppliers, sub-contractors, and historical pricing. We then use this as the basis for our estimating work. We make sure that we identify and explain the commercial or construction risks involved so that you can decide how you wish to proceed. Claims and dispute resolution Ian Brazier & Graham Feakins In a construction environment, claims over time and money are almost inevitable, whilst every contractor will endeavour to deliver projects punctually and within budget, delays and change in specification are unavoidable. Whatever the reason a claim, or dispute has arisen, we offer clients the full support of our contractual, commercial, and planning expertise. At Adeo we are knowledgeable in all areas of Construction Claims. We have been appointed on several Construction Claims, ranging from smaller scale claims to multi-million-pound disputes. Adeo will offer a full and candid appraisal of your claim, provide tactical guidance as well as preparation of time and cost entitlement documentation that will support your claim. It is essential to implement a clear strategy to ensure a successful outcome to your claim. The Adeo Team encompasses strong project leadership, extensive knowledge, and unprejudiced vision. IR35 compliant solution Changes made to IR35 have had a considerable effect on companies hiring individual contractors where the detail and nature of the working environment more closely represents an employer-employee relationship. HMRC will be coming down hard on companies who do not meet the requirements of this legislation. If it is found that a contractor or company is in breach, there are severe financial penalties to be paid. Under IR35, HMRC can investigate up to 6 years of history and evaluate past contracts to determine whether the legislation applies. Unfortunately, some organisations and competitors rely upon either unproven or untested determinations as to IR35 compliance or the use of unregulated and in some cases questionable Umbrella companies to supply their staff. These are often led by trying to utilise cheaper resource and unfortunately this undermines their ability to properly control and manage their provision of services, irrespective of what they profess to be able to supply.
