A Novel Concept The Eva Collection has proven immensely popular this year. The novel and ingenious cutting technique brings the look of a much larger diamond at a fraction of the price. The central diamond is what is known as a “Pai-Cut” Diamond, it is in fact made up of several smaller diamonds that have been cut to fit together perfectly to form the shape of a much larger stone. Looking carefully at the close up below we can see that the Emerald Cut Diamond is actually made up of 9 smaller diamonds that fit together seamlessly, almost like a jigsaw puzzle, into what is a 7.5 x 5.5 mm Emerald Cut shape. This is the look of a 1.5 ct diamond. However the total weight of the 9 diamonds is only 0.54 cts. Trying not to get too technical, it is important to know a few things are happening here:  We get the 1.5 ct look yet are only paying for 0.54 carats.  The price per carat is actually even lower because it is 9 smaller diamonds that make up the 0.54 cts.  When working with smaller diamonds we are able to use the very best quality without breaking the bank. Every diamond in this collection has VS clarity and F color. That means we don’t only get the looker of a much larger diamond but we get the look of a much better diamond.

Anyone that has spent endless hours hunting for a diamond has been fed the 4 C’s ad nauseam and will understand that a VS/F diamond of any size will command a premium. Different kinds of illusion set diamonds have become very popular with major retailers in recent years and have been the central part of many marketing campaigns. We were introduced to this collection in early 2020 and it proved a big hit right off the bat at the Palm Beach Antiques and Jewelry Show back in February.
