Ryde Mayor Jerome Laxale told The WeeklyTimes the local community consultation processwill start today with residents, visitors and busi-nesses of Eastwood invited to provide feedbackby completing an online survey, which is availablein English, Chinese and Korean. He said the survey asks visitors and residents todetail their purposes for visiting Eastwood towncentre, their accessibility needs and how they nor-mally travel to Eastwood, while businesses areasked about the needs of their business and cus-tomers. The community will also be asked to providecomment on the proposed design concepts forthe new short stay car park, which is located onthe east side of Rowe Street, within the famousKorean business district. “The feedback we receive during this consulta-tion process will enable Council to deliver on itspromise to bring shoppers back to Eastwood andrevitalise the local economy,” Mayor Laxale said. “In 10 months this Council has achieved whatothers haven’t in 10 years and this new short staycar park will be the biggest increase in public park-ing spaces in Eastwood in nearly 50 years.” The survey will help the City of Ryde identify theneeds and expected usages of the new short staycar park.
